  1. As other have said, the Varland trade is the one I disliked the most. He was breaking out as dominant here. With him, maybe, just maybe we are able to close out some of these games the bullpen has lost for us. In theory, his success and energy could have potentially elevated the performance of some of the other guys as they feed off each other. Acquiring Roden made zero sense at all and mostly due to injuries, his performance has made this trade seem worse. At this point, we need Rojas to be a very high end starter just to come close to evening this trade out.
  2. If Wallner is still injured from that HBP, give him an IL stint til hes right. Give him AAA ABs on a rehab assignment. Meanwhile, call up ERod to take his place and let him start.
  3. Seems like Quick should be moved up to AA soon. Very nice work so far. Diaw having a great game, too. What is going on with the pitchers in AAA? Almost all are failing miserably in their current roles. Maybe we should call over to Long Island one more time and see if Bauer wants to be in St Paul.
  4. Great start from Taj! Absolutely loved that he got to stay in the game even after the run scored in the 7th. The bullpen only needed to get through 2 innings...and still couldn't do it 🤦‍♂️. Banda actually looked acceptable, his velocity was better. Maybe, maybe if he can keep up with the increased velo he'll put up more zeros. Another good day for Clemens. Seems to be playing much better this week. Another trend i hope continues. The team put up a lot of hits today, but still couldn't push enough runs across. Really a disappointing game we should have won.
  5. Not very inspiring for the future when the "pitcher of the day" only goes 4 innings with 7 base runners. John Klein does not seem to be a starter. Has the potential to be an ok reliever. Looking like some of those AAA bats are waking up. Maybe the big team should try to take advantage of some of that power?
  6. No offense to Garcia, but I have zero interest in watching a 39yo veteran see if he has 1 more season in him. Get Rojas back up here or someone else with, hopefully, a future on the team.
  7. Nice win. I hope Prielipp is here to stay. Again, Morris is left in too long. How many times does this same result need to happen before you stop doing it? Finally got to see the arm from Wallner. With the bat still not producing, is it enough to keep his spot on the roster?
  8. I agree, they aren't performing as you'd like, but the manager that watched them succeed last season is waiting at Target Field to (hopefully) unlock that potential we've seen.
  9. The bullpen isnt going to magically get better on its own. With these players, you cant have 3 4 5 relievers coming into every game. One or more of them will falter more often than not. The starters need to pitch deeper into games. The other day Ober was pulled with around 83 pitches. Bullpen comes in and immediately puts the game out of reach. Coming into this season we knew it was going to be filled with ups and downs. Player evaluation should be happening. But the ones in charge absolutely need to make moves when necessary. We are past that point. Get the AAA guys up here and see what we have with them. Outman can go. I feel like Keaschall needs a reset in st paul. Get better defenders. Do something. Sending Kriedler down was not the right move.
  10. Nice start from Ober. Ill take 6 innings and 2 runs every time hes out there. Martin should be in the lineup 90+% of games. The offense and bullpen? Same sh.. different season. Something needs to be done. With the offense sputtering, we cant just keep sending guys out that aren't hitting. The roster redundancy is as big of an issue as a lot of people thought it would be. Larnach has been great as a Platoon, but at this time Martin deserves to be out there everyday. Larnach is terrible on defense and is best suited as a DH. Trade him for a useful BP arm. Bell is can then spend most of his time at DH, where he is best suited. His defense is terrible, as well. Play Caratini or Lee at 1st. Call up Erod and insert him in RF. Try Culpepper at Short. There are options.
  11. I commented about bringing him up on the Austin Martin article. He absolutely needs to be the starting RF now. 100%. Outmans time has run out. Martin in Left. Buck in Center. ERod in Right. Martin and ERod can both spell Buck in center for a rest day. We'd still have Larnach and Wallner on the roster to alternate at DH or fill in as 4th/5th outfielders. Pohlads, make it happen!
  12. If I recall correctly, he's someone that takes a bit to get going. Whether he doesn't have the feel for his pitches yet or its just too cold for him still, idk. He seems to get better as the season goes on, though. Hopefully thats the case. His last start was decent. Not great, but decent. Better defenders behind him would help a lot.
  13. Martin should be starting in LF. Period. Buck in Center. Call up Eman from AAA to start in right, he can cover center on Bucks off days. Push Wallner to 5th outfielder/ occasional DH.
  14. Good game. 1 bad pitch deposited into the seats ruined an otherwise decent start for Sim. Still better than his last 2 attempts. Yet again Lee with a bad game. 4 Ks and slow on defense. Should've turned that double play. It looked like he was running in slow motion to the bag. Nice comeback win! Go Twins!
  15. Flashbacks of last season. Good game from the starter. Leaves with a lead. Bullpen and defensive miscues cost us the game. Morris should not have been sent back out for the 9th. Terrible Baldelli-like decision there. Yet again commenting on Lee messing something up, gets thrown out by a mile at home. I thought the team was "going back to the basics"? Pitching and Defense? Where is it
