It was just a thought based on his comments about people ready to take his spot on the roster and things of that sort

As already stated, I too want the team to extend Ryan. Very entertaining. Jeffers, also. I like what they both bring to the team. Seems unlikely though. Good game today. Fun to watch. Great catch by Outman. Im not the biggest fan of his, but credit where its due, he has started to contribute a little bit. The team can be competitive. Im glad there were some players moved out. Just a thought, but having Lewis in the clubhouse could not have been good for morale with all the negativity.

On this roster, his defense alone is why I want him as the everyday 1B. I read the other day he led AL 1B with 5 OAA. The bat is currently slightly above average. I realize Bell was signed to be the starting 1B but his defense is absolutely awful and *currently* Clemens has the better bat. But even if Bell gets out of his slump and stays hot long term, I'd still prefer Clemens because of the defense. Bell can DH if his bat justifies it. The defense on this team has been so bad that anyone being above average with the glove should be on the field.

Nice start for Zebby. 5 hits. No walks. Tough luck loss.

Costly win. Hoping for a quick recovery for Jeffers. Very important to the team in many ways. Unfortunately, one of those ways is what we can get at the trade deadline for him. I would prefer the team be able to sign him for a few more seasons, until Tait or whoever is ready, but as a Boras client, I highly doubt thats possible. Trading him is the smart move. Him and any other free agents. Not having Buck on the IL has been an interesting choice. The most defensively suitable replacement is already on the roster in Kriedler, but there are others on the 40 man that could've gained some valuable MLB experience, if even for 10 days. Clemens defense at 1B has been very good. He's looking comfortable there at the moment. Is he a late bloomer or is this just the fun part of watching a streaky player?

If Jenkins were healthier, I feel like he may have been called up already. I've heard Houston's defense is MLB ready and its his bat holding him back. I'd take a gold glove SS on the team. We'll See soon if he can handle AA. Culpepper feels like he's close. Im ready for his call up. An infield with Culpepper at 3B, Houston at SS and Lee at 2B seems like it would be pretty good defensively.

Ober pulled at 77 pitches 🤦♂️ Decent start though. Lewis looks lost at the plate. Man Clemens is looking good right now. I sure hope it continues. With this many days off, I'm surprised Buck wasn't put on the IL. Must be beat up pretty good. With Taj returning soon, is the writing on the wall for Sim? A Move to the pen or ...? No way Prielipp should be sent down and Zebby definitely earned another start. Good to see Keaschall trending in the right direction. Bell has been a big disappointment so far and I'd really like to see him released or traded. Continue clearing out the logjam of no defense players.

Prielipp looked good again. Same with Clemens. Outman with another hit? Defense is still bad. Is Lewis currently the worst position player on the team? I had really hoped he'd come around but he is swinging at pitches so far off the plate. Hopefully we can avoid the sweep tomorrow.

That obstruction call was bs. But the offense couldn't get it done anyways. All singles. Ryan looked good.

Compliment Shelton for leaving Ober in the game a couple days ago and now Zebby is having a great start and he gets pulled at only 83 pitches. 🤦♂️ Really nice start for Zebby. Love seeing it. Outman hits? Who knew? Batting average higher than Royce now. Wonder how much longer Lewis has before he's teammates with Wallner again? Maybe a little Nitpicking, but I'd prefer Martin in left.

As good as Ober was yesterday, Sim was the opposite tonight. He seems to be getting worse, much like Royce. So many batters are struggling. Not a terrible night for the pen, I suppose. Clemens has looked better recently. Man is it fun to watch Buck!

I commented about this on a different thread recently. He has potential, but that control is a major concern, especially when its not improving much, even at AAA. He also hasn't really shown the ability to handle a starters work load. The lack of control will generally lead to higher pitch counts early and a worn out bullpen. With that said, The Varland trade was and is a head scratcher for me. At the time, i was quite disappointed it even happened and still am. Unless Rojas is able to clear a lot of hurdles (Please prove me wrong), I see best case scenario is hoping he turns into a Louis Varland and dominates in the pen. I like the potential, but there are countless stories of pitchers with potential that couldn't figure it out

Great game from Ober. I really enjoy good pitching performances. They're even more impressive when you dont have high 90s available. Crafty start had the hitters guessing wrong all night. Its a beautiful thing. Props to Shelton for actually letting him have a chance to finish it and not pulling him after the 2nd time through the order. Buck stealing home and then Jeffers putting one into the 2nd deck!

Im ready to see Culpepper up for his defense alone. But I understand that may be of some detriment to his development. Either way, he will be a welcome addition when he gets the call. As for Lee, the idea of getting him off SS is also exciting. I like what the bat has done so far this year but overall the defense has been bad. I dont know that he has the arm for 3B and he was pretty bad there last year when he played. I think 2B should ultimately be his home, but what does that do to Keaschall? His bat wont play at 1B, especially so far this season. Too many other options for 1B already. Which tells me, whether he can handle it or not, Lee will probably move to 3B whenever Culpepper is called up.
