Public perception of the team is at an all time low. Cutting payroll, TV problems, horrible play from our team, not attempting to improve the team. I don't see any way around a complete rebuild with new owners. This team needs a complete reset from the top all the way down. When your two "stars" are now finally healthy and playing together, but putting up the worst numbers on the team, changes need to happen. Maybe if ownership is straight with them and tells them of a rebuild or re structure, they waive their no trade clauses. At this point though, would we even get anyone acceptable back from Buck or Correa? Sad times for Twins fans. Wish I could just watch the Saints games instead. MLB.tv is supposed to have minor league games but I can never find them?

I get the doom and gloom and in most respects it is justified. Normally, patience should be exercised, but coming off the very similar play of late 2024, this club really couldn't afford a slow start.

A healthy Buxton and Correa will be very good players, but their slow starts highlight how questionable the rest of the roster has proven to be. The second tier of relief pitchers have shown to be unreliable and the lack of speed and athleticism shows in the field and on the base paths. The Twins have far too many players in the category of "if you're not hitting, you're not helping".

The team really needs a spark and I don't know if there is anyone ready to provide it. I'd hate to see good players traded, but I suspect that is in the offing if the club doesn't do a 180 and soon.

I believe the Twins like to use Correa as the cutoff on as many plays as possible to take advantage of his elite arm. The only plays he doesn't cut off are down the lines.

It'd be nice if we had a GD manager who ensured what they think they want is actually what they get. That makes sure the team understands, practices and VALUES playing defense crispy and effectively.

And the clown show last night isnt an isolated incident.

This complete lack of execution of the principles of playing the game of baseball is a reflection of the front office and more directly, the manager. It shows up in multiple ways day in and day out.

They can't control opponents on the base paths, and they dont really even try. They can't execute simple defensive plays. They never, ever try to advance runners when they're in a close game. Anybody can play anywhere. Catchers play every other day no matter what. 5 innings from the starter, no matter what. Nobody has an actual role in the pen. And in and on.

Yes, they're short of offensive talent.

But they compound that issue with utterly awful management.

A manager or leader, in any walk of life, tends to get the level of performance from his team that he/she allows.

Don't understand why he wasn't sent down when they brought up Funderburk. Instead they gave away Blewett, who they were once performing roster gymnastics to keep.

Right? WTF

Per Gleeman: last night's announced attendance of 10240 was the smallest since April 30, 2002 at the dome.

Quite the turnaround since the excitement of winning their first playoff series roughly 18 months ago.

Possibly the worst business management decisions since "new Coke." They've seemingly done everything in their power to turn people away since then, starting with "right sizing" payroll before the echos of the postseason crowd had even settled.

I'd forgotten they did everything they could to kill fan excitement and business momentum.....

This sums it up perfectly. I also agree that if this continues moves will be made. Does anyone out there have confidence in Falvey to make the right moves?  I don’t.

This is correct. It was Castro out of position given the way the Twins run cuts. Castro also forgot to cover second base for a force out, but Correa who was looking for the short toss managed the throw to first for the out. Castro is decent at third and shortstop on occasions and probably better than Larnach in left field but Willi struggles with second base. As ridiculous as it sounds the best lineup with this roster has Lee at 3B, Castro in LF unless Bader is playing, Larnach at DH, and Julien at second base. Hopefully some trades are in the works but April is usually a dead zone for change.

The biggest problem is the manager,he thinks that 1st base,SS and CF are the only everyday positions. It's musical chairs for all other positions. Then the other problem is the FO fires him and puts Tingler as interm manager and he is just a different face but the same guy. The Polhad's deserve what they have with this team, but the fans don't.

I'm not sure what you'd expect at third and second right now? Also, hasn't Wallner (like Kepler) started pretty much every game in RF? Catcher is a tag team....so I'm not sure your point?

One day the 2024 - ? Minnesota Twins will be the subject in an MBA course “How to Ruin Your Brand in 6 months”

The Pohlads are getting exactly what they deserve. Right sizing payroll was an all time backfire strategy, then they took the short term Bally Sports cash when they knew full well that a majority of fans were going to be blacked out of TV coverage in 2024.

Seems about right. Plenty of tickets still available for that big twins-Rockies series July 18-20 at Coors field

Might see a TC win.

The Twins are the 27th ranked team in watchability, according to the analytics. So we got that going for us.

27th is being generous.

Boring product, penny-pinching ownership, and status quo mediocrity!

On the bright side,  there's only 631 more games to go until Correa's contact expires.

Thank you!!!

I took heat in a post last week for boycotting these cheap owners since 2019.

I guess someone should tell Castro, then, or if they have, Castro should own it.

The throw didn’t actually cause any advantage. But it sure was pathetic.

About 7 years since Alcala was traded for and supposed to become a fair replacement for Ryan Pressly. I guess that ship never came in. Celestino must have hi-jacked it.
