sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 I like that Julien choralled the ball and threw home, alebit too little too late. I think i'd have laughed hysterically if it weren't too late. Although i suppose nothing is stopping me.
exeoud Verified Member Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 Miranda and Lewis are a clown show at third base. Bad bad loss. Tiebreaker means we're 3 back of the Guardians, could and should have been 2.
thelanges5 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 Flush this one, be happy about the three out of four. We will need the positive vibes going into face San Diego. IndyTwinsFan, Peter and SD happy 3

That should be enough to win. Blame Rocco. You mean bats, with the exception of Santana in the 9th, that were basically in a deep coma since the 2nd or 3rd inning?
Peter Verified Member Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 **** loss. Can’t lose another game in this fashion rest of season must win series against San Diego as well rest of games this season-hate losing this way with a passion!!! Just bump in road to World Series championship/next week at this time twins will be in first place.

My point was 4 runs should be enough to win when the other team has not scored going into the 7th inning.

But one assumes less needs to be fixed to change the outcome next time we face a similar situation? Think a good pitch just off the plate over a pitch behind the batter as a comparison.

I'm not disagreeing with that point. What I'm saying that with even a modicum of offensive competence later in the game, it never would have come down to this.

insagt1 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 Can't ever see contact play in extra innings. Lately it hasn't worked. Twins ran themselves out of a run. Bottom of 10th was a clown show. But should never have gotten there. Alcala was terrible in blowing a 4 run lead in the 7th. I love Royce as much as anyone, but he does strike out a lot in key situations. As for Julien, he just strikes out most all the time. Twins did take 3 well played games and should have won this one too. A poorly executed top of the 10th and then a mess in the bottom. NYCTK and IndyTwinsFan 2

It should have not come down to this because the manager should have been able to see that his reliever clearly did not have it and actually do something about it instead of sit there motionless and chewing on his gum.
Schmoeman5 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 After the Miranda FC on the contact play. Is Vazquez a better option than Larnach? Alcala 1 hitter too long. Sweep with Lopez throwing 6 Shutout innings without his best stuff would have been nice. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. wabene 1
