Alcalá’s ERA went up almost a full run—2.15 to 3.09 in one appearance. He looked dominant yesterday, not so much today.

It’s fair to say no one knows if he was “warmed up”, but he was throwing and there was even a delay after wallner lost his glove over the fence. Dont buy that he couldn’t have been loose once the game was tied.

Rocco tried to squeeze two more outs out of him so he wouldn’t burn another pitcher. And it bit him.

Lopez would have been pulled in either the 1st or 2nd if that was the case...

Rocco makes millions of dollars to make these decisions, i couldve sent out a position player to pitch and it wouldve ended up better than leaving alcala in.

Hindsight is 20-20. I was sure Rocco should have pulled López, but it worked out. Equally certain they should have pulled Alcalá, and it seems he should have.

I believe yesterday Alcala got through his inning with 9 pitches.  Many were calling for him to close it out. Today, he was off. The pitch Garcia hit out was high and out of the strike zone. He made a mistake to Jung. It happens.

Meanwhile, the getaway day attitude at the plate decided to kick in after the 4-0 lead.  Zero hits since the 3rd.  This would be a beyond pathetic loss given all of the circumstances.
