stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 It seems to me the Twins have been seeing more than their share of LHP of late. Two of three lefties vs. Washington, one of three vs. Texas, two of four vs. KC and now one of two (so far) against the Astros. That’s six of the last twelve. Add in pinch hitting as soon as the fifth inning and the young lefties aren’t getting much time at the plate.

Why wouldn’t it be? Would be pretty irresponsible to never let your lefties hit against lefties because platoon and change it up in the playoffs theres a reason batting stats are all worse early in the season than later in the season. Players need ABs to get in a groove. If Kepler finishes the season with 35 PAs against lefties he’s not going to play vs lefties even if it’s the WS USAFChief and Parfigliano 2

Would be pretty irresponsible to catch Jeffers 130 games and then he's got no legs for the postseason. They'll all get some ABs throughout the season and Kepler plays every postseason game. Relax. Danchat Verified Member Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 It might be time for a Ryan clunker just because he's been pitching too well recently. Feels like that's how our rotation has been pitching this year. Patzky 1

stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 What is the Twins pitchers’ ERA in the first inning. It seems like everyone, except for SWR, gives up a disproportionate number of dingers in the first inning.

There's been a bit of that lately where Pablo, Paddack, Ober, get us in an early hole then hang around to pitch into the fifth or sixth inning. Yields a reasonable stat line but the hole isn't always diggable.
