If Jax or someone gives up the lead in the 8th there's a chance Duran never even pitches in the game. The whole point is to make sure to use Duran in a big spot. The 8th was a big spot.

Obviously shortstop, quit being hyperbolic. If Miller makes a single all star game it'll be one of the most amazing prospect success stories we have seen in years.

Meanwhile, I'm looking at Cole Young, the Mariner's top prospect. He's 20, at AA and a shortstop. Miller is a nice enough player, but there's guys like this all over the place.

Compared to a walk off with no chance to come back? Yes. 6 outs have to made and Duran isn’t making them all. Sometimes people act like the 4-9 hitters are bums. They’re not. They’re major league hitters too. Bichette and IKF had 5 hits between them tonight.

With a 2 run lead if you can't get 3 outs before it's tied  you don't belong in the show

I get the logic and the odds you are playing. And it could have just as easily gone the other way. But I don’t think it was a dumb move to have Duran pitch the 8th and pitch to Vlad. It’s not like we were knocking the cover off the ball tonight, I think pitching Duran in the 8th was the better move. Tonight, anyway.

Don’t belong in baseball? Lmao what. Jax has had his share of that over his career. So you wanted the guy who shouldn’t even be in MLB to get the last 3 outs?

Many still play the opener. Now, that one I really dislike. But I’m okay with putting Duran in when it will be most effective and tonight I think it was the 8th 🙂
