The two batters at the top of the Giants' batting order were Twins alumni, Denard Span and Eduoardo Nunez. Nunez is kind of fun to look back at. He amassed 3000+ plate appearances, yet his career WAR hovers around 0, and whatever you think of those particular metrics, the PA sounds weird but the WAR sounds about exactly right. 😀 His longevity puts him in somewhat exclusive company, as only about 2000 players ever came to bat that many times. The other side of the coin is that only about 650 of those compiled a lifetime OPS lower than Eduardo's .714.
