Last night radio crew kept talking about the "slow track" dirt basepaths too.  Didn't really bother me, but I didn't need to hear it like 6 times.

I actually am close friends with the assistant groundskeeper for the Sox. The head guy has been doing his infield the same way since literally the 70s

I've had a few times when I was thinking of something I wasn't capable of. I remember a time in a Vintage Base Ball game where I doubled into the gap and nearly got thrown out trying to stretch it into a single.

I used to be able to run a bit in short spurts. Was playing softball in North Carolina and hit one off the centerfield wall. I saw it hit the metal fence pole and bounce hard the opposite way of the centerfielders momentum as I was about three strides from 2nd.  The ball beat me to third by 5 strides.

I never did get the guys name but apparently he was in AA a couple years prior. I wish I'da seen the throw but hearing it go past my head was enough.

I recalibrated my capabilities to adjust for my late 30s.

Glad they didn't option Funderburk to activate Duran.

Again now….. you’re talking common sense.🤷‍♂️

Just died laughing.

The Sox announcers: "The ALC is tough this year, 4 teams with winning records so far. The Sox are 2-16 vs. the Central."

Holy ****. No chance Chicago is just historically awful and buoying the W/L records right? The mental gymnastics are actually kinda impressive.

that 1-0 pitch was one I used to see buxton clobber into the seats

I wish he would go back to contact and speed instead of trying with every swing to pull it 15 rows deep

Aaaaaand, the radio crew is again talking about the "slow track."

I have tried….. but Attebury drives me nuts!! His voice is like nails on a chalkboard first of all, and then even worse….. he never ever shuts up!!

He needs to learn, less is more.

Yeah I was just gonna say, Chicago is such a poverty franchise, it doesn’t feel for a minute like the Twins are in danger of losing tonight or tomorrow

So much this.

They're so laughably bad that I fully expect to watch their bullpen to implode and toss this game tonight, then their lineup will bottom out against Ober tomorrow.

I think the LaRussa experiment really set this franchise back. They were poised to be really good, then hire an old guy to suck all the life out of the room.

The Cease trade, just the final nail in the coffin

I think he's improved from last year. Last year it felt like he thought he needed to use every item in the press notes by the third inning. But yeah, lots of repeating things, along with naming every jersey in the crowd.

He's just a month into the full-time gig, so hopefully he keeps heading in the right direction.

Buxton is plenty fast to steal bases. He is a joy to watch in center field. He's always been streaky and the streakiness was probably exacerbated by his injuries. I expect him to heat up at some point, but he doesn't look good in the majority of his at-bats.
