stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Limited the damage. Great pitch on 1-2. Doctor Gast and mrtwinsfan 2
hitterscount Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 This approach at the plate is so frustrating, the strikeouts just keep coming…make contact! Milwaukee showing you don’t need a home run every damn swing. Doctor Gast 1

Mostly it isn't the approach, it is the type of hitter. chpettit19 1
RickOShea Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Is it just me, or does this current team (Twins) doesn't impress me. ( and just 4 games into the season)
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Way to make the Pitcher work guys, Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 The offense has scored in 5 of 30 innings thus far (16%)
RickOShea Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Remember, this is part of a national broadcast on MLB network. That indicates Twins will not look that impressive as a previous playoff team from last year.
CRF Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Our guys are looking just as bad at the plate, as they did in the last KC game. They better not let Junis beat them.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 It's a lot easier to challenge hitters when ahead in the count.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Varland's face always looks like he just delivered a morning newspaper route, in high winds and sub-zero temps. ashbury 1

No, I mean making two outs on three pitches before Julien came up. It was a virtual certainty that Julien would take the first pitch after Varland had thrown 25 pitches in the previous inning. Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Let’s bring back bundy and archer. 4+4= 8 innings!

Schmoeman5 Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 In the pre-game it was mentioned that hitters swinging 1st pitch vs Junis were hitting around .400. So I'm sure that was the philosophy coming into this game.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 If Varland can throw 123 he should do fine. USAFChief, ashbury, Danchat and 3 others 4 2
Azviking101 Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Varland is not a starting pitcher. idk how many more times it needs to be said. instead of getting a dominant reliever we’re forcing him to be a bad starter because there’s nobody else Also super excited that the offense is trying to be anemic the first half of the season again mrtwinsfan and Aggies7 1 1
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Amazing to watch what making contact will do, 2 totally different approaches ,
Irishman Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 I believe Twins is not very good this year. Bummer! Sigh. Danchat 1
RpR Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Two hits in a row, load the bases and see if the Twins curse has been broken.
umterp23 Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 60+ pitches thru 3 innings isn't good, no need to worry about 7 innings if this is his norm
RpR Verified Member Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Kirilloff is cementing his place on the team today. Wally's big chance.
