Surprised I guess that he doesn't have more time, as it seems like he has been around forever.

In terms of full mlb retirement pay, I doubt he is worried.  BRef reports his career earnings as 99 million.  He isn't checking out the dollar menu...

Mostly cause the dollar menu ain't exactly athlete food.

He might.  Rich people don't get (and stay) rich by writing a lot of checks.

Could tell that was gone off the bat even watching on the radio.  Sheesh.

Same.

So if a shortstop doesn't throw out a runner when a ball hits a pebble and deflects out of his reach, is that an error?  Since there's no discount for conditions...

No, that's out of ordinary effort.  A pebble isn't a condition.

"Rays Daily" is no-doubt complaining about giving up homeruns to the 8 and 9 hitters. 🙂

This squad can put out some deep lineups.

9 years and 31 days days of service time.  for Dallas K.   needs 10 years for full mlb retirement pay,   found this intresting!!

I think he is already fully vested based on this from a search for the MLB retirement plan

"After ten years in the major leagues, players receive an annual pension benefit of $100,000. MLB players, who have played for 10 or more years and have accrued at least 1,000 days on an MLB roster, can receive the maximum pension benefit of $230,000 per year."

Why is a pebble not a condition, but blinding sunlight is?  What exactly would you define a pebble as, if not a condition outside of a player's control, kind of like oh, I don't know, the sun?

Dallas at 60 pitches.  Gotta imagine he probably goes around 95-100 regardless with the 7 straight games coming up.  Hope he makes the most of them.

He should not be anywhere near the postseason roster.

He's a crafty lefty who will not be overwhelmed by any moment.  He absolutely should be on the postseason roster as a guy who can get a couple of key outs against lefties if needed.

couple of key outs against lefties if needed.----  only if he is the 3rd  Lefty option,  then  Maybe , My vote ,  NO

I agree, but not because of today.  Defense gave TB 3 runs.

I'm glad the Twins called him up as they have won 5 of the 6 games he appeared in.  One of the wins was in spite of a bad outing by Kuechel.  Kuechel is a starter and as such needs to come in at the start of an inning if he is pitching relief.  I would rather have Funderburk than Kuechel of the postseason roster.

Edit: In the postseason at most you will need 4 starters, do most teams carry 8 relievers?

It's what the pebble does to the ball, causing a fielder to have to make an extraordinary effort to make the play.  The sun doesn't make an action on the ball.

A high pop fly in windy conditions can be an error but can very easily be called a hit if the fielder got gusted.  The wind would cause the play to be tougher so its the ordinary effort standard again.

I would like to be having these discussions about errors but whats being called now is so far from any standard its impossible to tell.  The scoring correction twitter feed is very busy.

Well, Thielbar is your top lefty, but he's also possibly your 3rd best reliever, so you don't want to use him in the 5th or 6th to get a lefty or two.  You're saying you'd rather use Headrick or Funderburk in a pressure-packed postseason appearance than Kuechel?
