Jim Rice holds the record - 36 in 1984.  Correa is now at 28, which is now Top-50 all-time.  Doing some quick match, he's averaging one DP per 5 games.  If that keeps up, that will mean another 6 before the season is over, for a total of 34, which will place him 3rd all-time in MLB history.

I just don't get Carlos approach at the plate right now. When they batted him leadoff, he just put barrels on balls and took walks. He needs to get back to that.

He hit the same in the leadoff spot (after a hot start) as he did before they put him there.

The foot is clearly an issue batting.....I'd like to see them rest him and put Lewis at SS and ? at third. But I get why they aren't resting him. I don't get not moving him down in the order, though.

It's not based on the 7th-9th.  Gray has blown up in the 5th and 6th innings several times.  I'm done with this argument, I supported the move and if Duran shuts the door here, it will be the right move.

 

Hell if MAT didn't lollygag getting the throw back in to start the inning, it's probably still a shutout.

I did say in my original reply to you that I would give him a batter or two.  We're in some agreeance here, I also understand taking him out.

Absolutely right. And from a guy who when he's going good will hit line drives to rightfield. Maybe he needs to talk to Max.

No, it will not mean that the right move was made. This is about not letting Gray pitch the 8th, not whether Gray or Duran would get the 9th with a lead. That is a poor way to look at it.

Just because something works out in your favor doesn't mean the right decision(s) were made - as I stated before, Gray is allowing a .700 OPS the 3rd time through an order.

I decide to drink at the bar and drive home while intoxicated and make it home safely.

That doesn't mean my decision to drink and drive was the right one just because I didn't crash my vehicle or injure someone.

And a .532 thru the 1st and ,663 thru the 2nd.  He's also given up just as many HR to a hitter in their 3rd PA of the game as the rest of the game combined.  Which is 468 PA to 150 PA.
