RickOShea Verified Member Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 This roof and heat talk has run its course, IMO.

A waste of roster space? 2nd rough start in a row, but he had 5 very solid ones before that. Very much a "what have you done for me lately" take. Jocko87, Cap'n Piranha, MMMordabito and 7 others 10

Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 I wouldn't say Kenta's a waste of a roster spot especially when you take a look at the Twins' bullpen. A couple of those guys - that's what a waste looks like.

Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 If, and it is a huge if, Keuchel continues to pitch well, then Kenta in the bullpen - presuming the Twins actually make the post-season, makes a lot of sense. FlyingFinn and Mike Sixel 2
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 Not sure why you bring toddlers to a day game in the heat. But whatev's.
Road trip Verified Member Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 Add in the fact that Maeda's contract is an absolute bargain at 3.1 Million a year. If the Twins were foolish enough to release him he wouldn't come close to clearing the waiver wire.

If Keuchel continues to pitch well, I put him in the pen too. Probably only need 3 starters. Roll with Lopez, Gray and Ryan (assuming he's healthy).

Keuchel doesn't need to see the mound in round 1, but especially a round 2 long man would be nice to have if you're moving Maeda to the rotation. And I do agree on Keuchel, but the premise was that if he continues to pitch well. USAFChief 1

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 Look at that. It's Jordon Luplow instead of Matt Wallner. Now up to 3 outs in 2 PAs.
