BTW, this is my not loving how the TWins love veterans.

Balazovich and maybe Sands are better than Lopez right now....heck, Winder is probably better. This is just like the OF situation....

But, when you’re positioned for an epic run for an historic ALC title…

I know you obviously can't win every game.  But, this game looked over by the 3rd.  We have no recent history to show great comebacks.  It's so obvious we go through the motions, without a care in the world.  I blame the Mediocre Culture, for games like this.  We handle adversity as if it doesn't exist, or with an 'Oh well' attitude.

5-2 would have been acceptable to all of us for this road trip.

Don't like to see the pitching falling apart though.

Fwiw…I actually think they played better in the split against Seattle, than they did in the sweep against Oakland. Oakland so bad, it didn’t matter.

Agreed.   They are terrible today.   Very disappointing.

I know Lopez has had his issues, and I sympathize with that and wish him the best, but he's been just as bad, if not worse, since he came back than he was before. At what point does the team just make him step away, and focus on his health?

Mrs Ash knocked out the internet connection while vacuuming.  We're at the library for the moment for a bit of bandwidth, but no MLB.tv viewing.  Mrs Ash's interpretation of events is that maybe I should do the vacuuming from now on.

Yeah, and it's kinda stupid.

MLB players can't be expected to make plays requiring more than ordinary effort?

Also, on a play like that, once the stop is made--which I agree wouldn't be an error if not made--the throw is pretty damn ordinary. Just because Lopez is late doesn't give him an excuse for a bad throw.

E3, IMO.

No disagreement, and it's part of what makes the Error a useless official stat.  But you would be fired on the first such call.

It's a trap! Beware.

FYI, Lopez has given up 5 runs in his 6 and one third innings since returning from his mental health break.

It is clear that something very heavy is weighing on him and he should address it for his family and his sake.

I think he's just not a good pitcher. He wasn't good his entire career up until last year when he was lights out for three months and has not been good the final half of last season or this season.
