I don't disagree with you one bit here. I'm not going berserk and demanding a Snell signing, I just think the team did great and maybe allocate some money into the roster again instead of pointing at the books and shrugging.

Hey all. Glad this generated some discussion on the direction that the team overall, big picture is taking. It's easy to try and paint this as an ALL or NOTHING commitment by the team, but that is just a straw man. No one is saying that billionaire owners should just go stupid spending, just to maybe set aside the books and run into the red for a year or two until the TV shenanigans work out. Even in this modern age of sports worship, running the Twins as a 'normal business' that needs yearly profit seems shortsighted to me. I'm just looking for the team to judiciously spend some capital on building what the roster accomplished in 2023, and keep moving forward. Winning the AL Central should be the floor, not the ceiling for the talent that we already have. If the arms aren't there this year, I hope we can loosen the purse strings and give the rest of the league a good scare of even more. I'm still skeptical that our ownership cares about winning it all though, so roast away on that.

I was just now looking at getting tickets for a Spring game since I will be in Florida two weeks from now and it hit me. . .

Family owns team since dinosaur days. . . it's only money comes from the team. Other family buys team, because they own banks and kind of print money. New family doesn't like that they don't make enough money from sports, convinces commissioner to make team extinct for a dollar on their dollar investment. General outcry tanks extinction plan. Family convinces fans to pay for new facilities to stay competitive. Their dollar investment is now many dollars. Family's team breaks through and has best competitive season since last century. Broadcast deal teeters and doesn't produce as well as before. Family cuts spending on team to same level as days when they played in old dinosaur stadium and shrugs. Family still owns banks and treats team as if it MUST be in the black financially every year, regardless of investment etc. Have I missed much? Fan since 1979 or so if it matters. . . (I'm not expecting the Dodgers here, I just want to see the fake poverty to f%%% off)

Out of curiosity, how many teams have Iowa in their region? Twins and Cubs? Diamondbacks AND the Padres get blacked out in Southern AZ.

Correa should be batting 8th or 9th in the lineup. He is killing our offense worse than Gallo.

From what I read, the Guardians had some beef with the way Anderson was tagging people at second, and chirped him about it earlier. Overly forceful, as if if were delivering a hit. Ramirez thought he did that to his head and put a finger in Anderson's face over it. You know the rest. I thought that was ugly as hell and am little surprised each player didn't get a couple games more each.

Not sure if this helps on not, but I watch the Bally broadcast via MLBTV on AppleTV in Southern AZ and I haven't really experienced any of that.
