Maybe correa and buxton will join in on the fun tonight, especially since Buxton can't play a day game after a night game at DH.  Go Twins

I'll be at Wednesday's game so I hope you're incorrect about day games after night games.

Mirror images? Twins 13-10 97 runs scored, 80 runs against. Yankees 13-10 94 runs scored, 78 runs against.

BTW, the Twins struggling offense has scored the most runs of all the teams in the AL Central.

Man, it's just hard to believe this is actually a New York Yankees lineup.

Is Aaron Hicks the Yankees Emilio Pagan?

The Yankees are more dogged with injuries than the Twins (for once). No Stanton or Donaldson and 3/5 of their rotation is out. Maybe this is the year that everything goes wrong and they have a losing record.

More likely, of course, is that some of their players return to health and others step up and they compete for the AL East flag.

Yes, I hear the boos for Hicks when I am at Yankee Stadium.  No, they are not as loud as those directed at Correa, but pretty shocking to be directed at your “own” player.

BTW: Old Yankee fans don’t get it when I compare Pagan to Ron Davis.  They still remember Davis as a pretty good pitcher.

Damn shut out again even though I pay too much for the DStream. It's not too often I miss Joe Ryan pitch. Poor Nestor, does he realize the run support Joe Cool gets?

It's kinda sad watching the Yankees founder under the Spector of the Mighty Twins.

Well I guess it's hockey for me, Sutter sucks etc.

Love to hear NYY fans ranting in disbelief that they could be beat by the lowly Twins that they've own for years, especially by NYY rejects Gray & Gallo. I'll say again let's sweep the bums! Go Twins!

Right handed hitters in the lineup versus Nestor. Does anyone know what his splits are like? Gallo and Kepler get the day off for now and Larnach is the only lefty in the batting order.

Edit to add: I checked Cortes' splits, this year he has extreme splits, handling leftieswith far less success vs. right handed hitters. In his career, Cortes has slightly reversed splits.

Slightly reverse 676 OPS vs rightys and 705 vs leftys.

The Hicks situation is utterly perplexing, I was just thinking that myself. I believe they owe him around 20MM. He has been actively horrible since his last good season, 2020. I could see giving him a mulligan on 2021 after coming off four good seasons in a row to see if he can get the magic back, but it would be peanuts to that team to eat the rest of his contract at this point and give his spot to somebody who might add some level of production. Not that I'm complaining. You do you, Yankees.

Trade him for Kepler? In terms of salary, I believe they are similar. Hicks has always been a better right handed hitter and he has the ability to play all three outfield positions. That money is owed him for years after this year probably make any idea of a trade a moot point.

It's not surprising that in the end Hicks just isn't that good.

It's actually closer to 30MM if you count the rest of this year. 1MM buyout for '26. They aren't convincing anybody else to pay any portion of that. I could see say, the Royals refusing to eat that much sunk cost, but this don't make sense to me.

2023 33 New York Yankees $10,785,714 9.041

2024 34 New York Yankees $9,785,715
2025 35 New York Yankees $9,785,715

I think Hicks is just one of those guys that can handle the press and pressure of NY. Gallo and Sonny Gray are just a few others that probably hated that microscope atmosphere

Hicks 4 best seasons (2017-2020) were with the Yankees.

I think it's easy to be the new guy who is not being paid a ton to become the darling of the fans. When the expectations change and are not met, the fans can be pretty brutal in the Bronx.

Who’s the guy in the ill-fitting leather jacket paired with Laudner?

sounds like he's been around before, don't know his name.  I miss the blonde lady but she hasn't been back.
