ashbury Verified Member Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Son Bashbury believes today's 4th inning pitcher Parker Bugg has a superb name for a bullpen denizen. Concur or disconcur. / disclaimer - Mrs Ash is aghast that I am making fun of the gentleman's name
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I voted “no” on behalf of Boof, but Mr. Bugg seems worthy of consideration.

Non-roster invite who cleaned up the final out when Mahle couldn't complete his inning's work. Never heard of him before today but apparently he pitched an inning earlier this spring.
Parfigliano Verified Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Former Twin Early Wynn. I have his autograph from a game in 1969.
Althebum82 Verified Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Wynn did pitch for the Senators before they became the Twins from 1939-48 (missing two seasons during that stretch). Hall of Famer. No doubt a treasured autograph to have! And yes, unlike "Boof", Early Wynn was in fact his actual name given at birth.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 I don't think this player's name will ever be outdone. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drungo_Hazewood This player also merits mention. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doug_Gwosdz
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Not with the likes of Boof Bonser, Coco Crisp and Dick Pole out there! It is a pretty cool name though!
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 I'm partial to Locke St. John.

Overvalued former Twins prospect Shooter Hunt should be on the short list, too. (I had forgotten him until the latest Randballs Stu article and discussion)

Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 I voted yes because I have a bad memory and then read the comments and regretted my vote
Rosterman Verified Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 I still like Shooter Hunt and Homer Bailey better.
strumdatjag Verified Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 I offer Grant Balfour as my favorite baseball name. Dick Pole is redundant.

Doctor Wu Verified Member Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 The all-time best was Urban Shocker, a pitcher for the Yankees, but that goes back to the 1920s!
Marek Houston Wichita Wind Surge - AA SS On Saturday, Houston went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. After a short slump, he is now back over .290 on the season. Explore Marek Houston News >
