Roster Move: The Twins have placed RHP Chris Archer on the 15-day IL with a hip issue and have recalled RHP Josh Winder to start tonight.

The Pitchers: RHP Josh Winder (3-2, 3.06 ERA, 24K, 36.1IP, 0.6 bWAR) vs RHP Michael Kopech (2-5, 2.78 ERA, 63K, 68IP, 2.0 bWAR)

Winder was very good his last time out against the Guardians in which he threw the 2nd game of the doubleheader, going 6 innings while allowing 4 hits but no runs. He walked one and struck out one while throwing 81 pitches. Winder hasn't been great at getting the strikeout this year, but has been good in all other facets. The White Sox lineup is the second best lineup he's faced on paper behind the Dodgers. Kopech is coming off of a 5.1 inning start against the LA Angels where he allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, on 5 hits, 2 walks, a homer, and 6 K's. Kopech relies heavily on a 94-98 MPH fastball and mixes in a slider, curve, and change. Kopech's velo has been down as of late as has his results. The Twins will need to get on him early with the weather moving in.

Some of the players' social media accounts were showing them out and about in Chicago and I kind of wanted to play stalker and show up in places they were. But I didn't.

I have no idea why any one would put Kirilloff in that group, before Larnach slumped, for what ever reason, I would have put him there as far as batting.

In case anyone needed a reminder that walks are indeed NOT as good as hits.

Unfortunately, that only seems to be the case when we GET the walks, not when we GIVE them.

At this point in the year the 4th OF spot should be treated as a straight platoon. Gordon has great underlying metrics and better performance than Celestino over the past month

They should probably pick up the pace if they want to get this game in.

I don’t want all those bases on balls wiped away from the record books.

@Squirrelwill be a better judge, but it looks like storms will be arriving in Chicago in the next hour.

It's hard to judge ... it's looked really 'grayish' for a while ... and I've gotten alerts that say 'start raining by 9' ... but, sometimes these things miss this area

Yeah...all that rain that missed us here in the metro, is racing toward Chicago. It sure looks like they're gonna get hit with some storms before the game is over.
