The all-time record for hitless at-bats by a Twin position player belonged to Butch Wynegar, I believe. IIRC, it was around 30 at-bats. Buxton is getting too close.

Ugh, if only playing 2B instead of SS wasn't so complicated! Just no way for the kid to adjust to such a position shift.

Absolutely no way to know unless it is tried. It seems Arraez and Gordon both did OK and were helpful. And Lewis is more athletic than both of them.

I was driving on I10 through Tucson recently when I noticed a cop car trailing me with its lights flashing.

Well ... I gradually increased my speed until I was going almost 100, but the cop just stayed right behind me. Finally I gave up and pulled over.

"Sir," Said the cop. "Do you know how fast you were going?"

"Pretty fast, officer. Almost 100. That's all I got."

"Give me a reason I shouldn't ticket you.," he said.

...

I thought for a few seconds

...

"Well sir," I said. "My wife told me a couple days ago she was leaving me for a cop. I was afraid you were trying to return her."

Butch was 0-39, so Buck has a little room.

I think you might have missed some sarcasm there.

Was he successful?

Smeltzer is the new man.  He should be designated as the one to grow one of those stringy meth-mullets.  I think it would look great with the beard.

Perhaps we (myself included) were too quick to right Miranda off after less than 50 plate appearances in his first MLB cup of coffee when offense is down across the board.

He’s not a .143 hitter. He might not walk more than La Tortuga, but he can hit.

Is that what the dollar menu is up to these days?  Inflation really is getting bad, isn't it?
