Didn't deserve to win this one. The offense has been dreadful against some pretty bad pitchers, and the bullpen simply isn't that good. Thankfully we have banked wins, but we're missing the chance to bank even more.

You've got it backward. Many think that SS and CF is so easy that Polanco can play SS or an INFer can adjust to CF no sweat, But the reverse is true it's not complicated for an athletic player to adjust to 2B from SS. Teams have thrown SS into 2B all the time w/o any adjustment time and they've excelled even more.

Predictable. It doesn't matter what the score is, the important thing is a 2 run lead with 6 outs to go. Period. Situational. Could have been 10-8. Same thing. Sure, it would be great to score more runs, but it is the lead in the 8th that makes it situational.

Plus, the offense did have 12 hits. Twice as many as the Royals.

It also doesn't matter what the score is when the bases are loaded with no outs and they score nothing late in games either.  That's happened two games in a row.  They had chances to get both of those games back.  Outhitting a team 2 to 1 doesn't mean much if they plate fewer runs.

I'm not saying that the pen isn't a problem, I'm saying that the bats deserve to be ripped too.  This isn't an either/or scenario.
