The Red Sox getting Schwarber is like the Yankees getting Gallo. They are both Dave Kingman type hitters (or similar to Sano). Rizzo is a big acquisition and maybe we can get Voit from them for Pineada (though they would want Berrios).

I think the implication is that interest has grown, among mostly the same teams, since the Scherzer sweepstakes officially ended. (Scherzer was mentioned in the first clause of the tweet.)

If you are a prospect stuck behind a major leaguer, wouldn't you want to go where you can play and get your career established? Ok, we aren't the biggest spenders but we develop good players and have had some success. And "sucky" teams can become good teams with the right moves. I just hope you aren't calling us "sucky".

I'm thinking that Kepler and Donalson would be pieces that we could get a decent return on and we don't need going forward and some money from trading Donaldson could be used to sign Berrios (or someone else). Look, I like Kepler but he hasn't improved in 4 years and Donaldson gets injured every year. By blowing everything up, I'm talking about if we trade most of our better players for "prospects" who may never make it. This is only 1 bad year in the last 4. To me, that's no reason to blow it up. We won't have some of the bad pieces next year but don't get rid of all the good.

I think fans vastly undervalue Kepler. And this team would miss him. 

I see almost zero chance Berrios doesn't hit free agency, given his quotes. So I can't see an extension.

I’ve never understood the logic of dismantling the offense because the pitching staff was horrible this year. Donaldson is performing, probably better than most expectations. Kepler is probably not going to elevate his game like Yelich, but he’s still quite good.

I would miss him. Problem is our FO has stockpiled lefthanded corner outfielders. It sounds likely we will receive a haul for Berrios, and nothing stops us from trying to sign him in a year 1/2. I agree he is determined to test free agency.

Martinez and Woods-Richardson seem to be premium prospects.  Pearson could be total stud, but core injury issues on a SP worry me a bit.  Great arm though.  Lot to like in that farm system....

I agree they have over drafted LH corner OFers that can't field the OF........

My thoughts are that if Buxton is out for a week or so, Kepler is a decent CF option. He's not playing there this year because Buxton is out longer, and the season is lost. Kepler can also field RF. I don't think any of their other ML or AA or AAA OFers field and hit. Also, Kepler is hitting slightly above league average this year, after being hurt and not playing well. I expect 3 or so WAR next year out of him.....Kiriloff is the 1B of the future. Larnach probably should DH, but is the LF (hoping he can improve somehow..... in the field.....).

Sounds like everyone is on the table… Buxton, Maeda, Rogers, etc. If Buxton is traded I’ll be pretty fed up with this organization.

I will also. No matter what they get, I'll be very disappointed they deal him. I truly think this roster can compete next year, with some luck in the bullpen, and by signing or trading for a legit SP or two.

Just before the clock strikes zero, the Twins trade Miguel Sano to Boston.

Yeah, there's just not a ton of value for corner bats and not a ton of value for guys with low on base skills.

But I understand why he had value to Twins fans. He was an enjoyable player to watch and his energy was always needed. I still hope for the best for Eddie, definitely one of my favorites from this era.

I think the Padres are about to get desperate. They lost Scherzer, lost Berrios, and are going to scramble. Preller won't stand put and knows he went all in before the season.

Maeda, Rogers, Buxton all could be a fit.

Twins could take on Meyers or Hosmer to really maximize the return.

We don't seem to have prospects stuck behind any major leaguers or barely any that are ready.  Are you calling this team not sucky or a good team?  We won a couple of division titles, not a huge feat in the ALC.  We never even win a post season game yet advance to the next round. We rarely develop our prospects and when we do (Buxton and Berrios) we don't have the ability or money to keep them.  This team is really bad, horrible, unwatchable or whatever you want to call it.
