Rick Blaine Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Once Cave is ready, I think most people think Celestino or Gordon will go to St Paul. I wonder if it might be helpful for Larnach goes down for the month of August and come back in September.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Honestly, ready for Vikings football. At least they only disappoint me once a week. This amalgamation of players just makes me angry

Astudillo is a big downgrade defensively, plus he hadn’t been hitting well the few weeks before his demotion. I hear you. It's just that Astudillo's never going to hit .170. Give him a full year of ABs and he'll hit .100 points above that, easy. Defensively he's a downgrade but there's gotta be a tipping point. He's not the worst receiver ever to put on the tools of ignorance, that should be enough when given the choice. Just my personal opinion of course!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 C'mon, Max, why aren't you swinging at that pitch? It was a good pitch from Peralta, but clearly a strike when you had the runner going. Great job.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 There is no point other than filling innings to keep pitching Happ. I have a hard time believing there’s no one else who can do better than 9+ ERA over the last 60 some innings Happ has pitched. Unreal.
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 C'mon Kansas City! You're being challenged to a race to the bottom.

Unreal. At this point, might as well keep trudging him out there for another start or two. Maybe he shows a flash and somebody grabs him on the market and we get some low level flier prospect. Otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised if him and Colome get DFA'd on August 1st.
twins_89 Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 I hope the Twins front office can finally give up on the hope of Happ recovering any trade value. It's been obvious for a while that he has been terrible and continues to be terrible. I guess waiting another couple of weeks to release him won't kill the team, but there doesn't seem to be any point.

Bothered me a lot. I've held my fire on Rocco for the most part. His comment on his love of the 7 innings is bothersome. Yeah, he’s not a baseball guy

I can’t imagine anyone paying more than a PTBNL or cash considerations. DFA will be the most likely choice, and I hope it’s coming sooner than later.

LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 You could easily knock off 10 minutes or more by shortening the 2 minutes between half innings. Pitchers don’t need 8 warmups and it’s not unreasonable for players to run to their positions. 1 minute between half innings would cut out 17 minutes

MABB1959 Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Might as well let Happ pitch. These sad sacks are having a hard time scoring so it really shouldn't matter.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 What is the real argument concerning the length of games? 1. Fans are bored, therefore attendance declines. 2. Shorter games reduces injuries? 3. Equipment lasts longer, therefore fewer cows and trees are sacrificed. Players, coaches and managers are going to get their time in, one way or another. You trim here, add there. Certain cirmustances will elongate games. How soon do you clear the field for an injured player? I know some of these are rare instances, but everyone is adding up every second.

I wouldn't trust him.
SoDakTwinsFan4 Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 No, Morneau Donaldson called time because Arraez had his back turned to the pitcher. NOT because he "didn't have a big enough lead"
