He also leaned forward (inexplicably) on a cross up earlier in the season letting the ball hit the umpire. I wouldn't trust him. I'd like to see the scouting report: Average to below defense. Trouble driving the fast ball.. average arm. Horrendous Gene simmons impression. Over all grade : c-
AceWrigley Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Nothing like a dreadful series like this coming out of the All-Star break to dash any hope of a possible run to a post season birth. It looks like they are playing to lose. Where's T.K. when you need him. Leo Durocher or Billy Martin would be kicking some major butt right now.

I still can't imagine they'll go less than that but maybe they'll do something like the NFL with the split-screen commercials.

I can see Billy grabbing the ball from a pitcher and kicking him in the butt as he walked off the mound.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Watching Happ pitch is like going to the dentist. You go in and the dentist quickly pulls your bad tooth, or you have dentist take 1/2 hour to pull 5 of your teeth.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Happ’s been bad today but chances are the Twins would be behind no matter who is on the mound
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 This team is lifeless. Just waiting for the trades to happen.

I wonder if it might be helpful for Larnach goes down for the month of August and come back in September. I disagree I think they should let them play especially Gordon for the rest of the season to see what they can or cannot do. Let them play consistently. Who knows who will be here after 8/1.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Rocco letting happ roast out there but pulls pitchers at 80 pitches that are sailing along.
RpR Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Gordon showed what he can do yesterday, and many time before; it is not pretty.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 When will someone in the Twins' FO, finally stand up during a game like this, and have security physically remove Baldelli for the dugout. I don't care if he's at fault 0%, 33% or 100%. He's providing nothing remotely positive for this team. No one can even hold their head up, like they're playing aggressive or smart baseball. He's just an extra seat on the plane or an extra buffet plate. We would not be in worse shape, if he took a powder.
RpR Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 One more double play and the Twins will have hit into as many double plays as they have hits.

HokieRif Verified Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 I’m not even watching the game. This is about as bad of an exit out of the all-star gate that any team can possibly make. My anticipation is just going to build up over the next 2 weeks as I see who we trade away, who we acquire, and analyze it the future potential of what we just traded for as I slip in to a coma of I don’t care for the last 2 months of the regular season.

I admire the Twins' decision to wear uniforms today. It lends some much-needed credibility to the theory that they're at work and doing their jobs, rather than just some dudes who know each other from school and get a game together on weekends sometimes.
