shortround81 Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 As Emily Charlton. Other fantastic lines; "This is foul, don't let her see it"."If you blow this for me, I will search every Blimpies in the tri-state area" "That I CAN'T even talk about."

bighat Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Be mad at Astudillo if you want (I am too). But frankly that was Kepler's opportunity to turn this into a big inning and he didn't even put the ball in play. Dude's looking straight up awful right now.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Why does it seem like JD Martinez is up every inning? With men on?
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Why does it seem like JD Martinez is up every inning? With men on?Ha! I was asking myself the same exact thing!
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Man, not long ago those Polanco and Kepler extensions looked like the steal of the century.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Potential dumb question alert: During these 7-inning doubleheaders, does the starting pitcher still need to go at least 5 innings to qualify for a win? Or are the requirements adjusted?Yes.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Man, not long ago those Polanco and Kepler extensions looked like the steal of the century. They still can be, but they're not looking so hot right now. That is for sure.
PopRiveter Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 This is heavily skewed by the 15 run game and 10 run game. A better metric would be the median, based on the runs scored below; 15,10,8,6,5,4,3,3,2,2 the median would be 4/5, rather than the 5.8 average. If you remove the two extremes it falls to 5.1 runs per game. Still not bad, but the SSS makes average runs a misleading stat right now.Geez, you are a tough judge. If you took away my 2 most intelligent forum comments, I fear what my median comment value would be. But seriously, league average in the AL so far this season is 4.68, so we must be a little spoiled because I'm feeling much like you are. The lineup feels uninspiring at least for game one today.
PopRiveter Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 12 outs to make up 1 run. Is that easier?I like these odds better.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Lets see how RISP(y) Jeffers can be.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Cave on second! But will he score? That's the issue.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Cave on second!Make that third.

PopRiveter Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 IDK How Astudillo will succeed in the majors, swinging the way he does. All I see is "Astudillo will succeed in the majors swinging the way he does" I guess the litmus test says I'm an optimist.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 well, at least it took a great play...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 But will he score? That's the issue.Alas no... Was hoping for a wild pitch myself.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Alas no... Was hoping for a wild pitch myself. That feels like that's what it's going to take anymore, doesn't it?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Can't really afford to give up another run here.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Time to get Maeda out of there. Not his best outing, but not terrible either.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Can't really afford to give up another run here.Yeah, let's make them earn it.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 That feels like that's what it's going to take anymore, doesn't it?Every base, Cave beat a throw to make it. A normal hit would discontinue that trend.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Can't really afford to give up another run here. Was thinking the same. Big pitch here to Renfroe.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Hey, we stranded their runner at third too. Not everything is bad...
