mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Jake Cave just dropped a routine fly ball, against boston, Hello. Trevor and Kiriloff, ??????
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 8, 2020 Author Posted March 8, 2020 C'mon Tomas Telis! (2 on 2 out down by 2 top of the 9th)
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 8, 2020 Author Posted March 8, 2020 Hurray! Down by 1. Yer turn now, Jimmy Kerrigan!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 8, 2020 Author Posted March 8, 2020 Almost... Oh well. Sometimes you eat the bar, sometimes, well...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 8, 2020 Author Posted March 8, 2020 Chalmers looked good. His curveball is definitely one of the best in their minor league system. Fastball sat 95...with command that he hasn’t always had in the past. That’s his biggest question mark. He could end up being the biggest surprise for the Twins. Most likely starts out in a Pensacola, but Rochester is probably only 3-4 good starts away. Thanks for the summary! Yet another source of optimism.
bighat Verified Member Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Kenta Maeda, have a game! 4 IP, 0 ER, 6K. Yes!
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Dobnak seems to really want that 5th spot.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 9, 2020 Author Posted March 9, 2020 Who we playing today?
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Cardinals. I like the way Dobbs moves his stuff around the zone. Almost all of his pitches tail down, some very hard down. They look hittable until just before they get there, then they fall off the table. Lotsa ground balls, one popup where the guy swung radically downward... We are watching a man become a horse.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 We are watching a man become a horse. I wonder if it hurts
big dog Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 I wonder if it hurtsThere might be some really awkward smells involved, too.
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Wheeler strikes out Astudillo and Arraez in the same inning. I know it's ST, but I'm guessing there will be a shortlist of pitchers who actually end up doing that. inb4 "We should have gone harder after Wheeler"
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Well, I’m in Clearwater. Beautiful drive from Tampa. 0-0 bottom 1. Harper hit by a pitch and left the game.
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Not good, Poppen. You must not be aware of the Philly/Santa Claus story.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Phillies drop a couple soft singles and score Harper’s PR. 1-0 Philly.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Of course Gregorius gets a hit, his first of the spring, ‘cause he’s facing Minnesota.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Royce Lewis! Long ball to left (off Wheeler).
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Great day to watch the best hitting prospects—Lewis, Kirilloff, Larnach and Rooker all in the lineup.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Of course Gregorius gets a hit, his first of the spring, ‘cause he’s facing Minnesota. But were the bases loaded?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 2-1 Phillies in the 4th. Lewis with an outstanding play in the hole to start the bottom of the fourth. Jax gives up a 2-run big fly. 4-1.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 I know its just spring training but Arraez has me worried. He's been striking more than usual and just isn't getting on base.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 I wonder if it hurtsHopefully, becoming a horse doesn't hurt as much as that werewolf thing. That looks nasty.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Poppen looks like he still needs work on his command. He can throw strikes with all his pitches, but too many of them drift over the middle. Great day for Lewis. After that play in the hole at SS, do we really think he can't stick at short? The Jeeter comps may re-emerge. Rooker can hit, and has decent speed. Same with Kirilloff. Same with Larnach. Same with Lewis, plus more speed. Tough cuts coming.
Musk21 Community Moderator Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Rooker can hit, and has decent speed. Same with Kirilloff. Same with Larnach. Same with Lewis, plus more speed. Tough cuts coming. Tough decisions to make in the next year or so.
Number3 Verified Member Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 I know its just spring training but Arraez has me worried. He's been striking more than usual and just isn't getting on base.Blasted forceplates. He was probably getting bad results on the body torque to wrist flex formula. So they made some "corrections". Or it could be sophomore jinx. It is a different mindset going into the season as an expected starter instead of being put into the lineup mid stream. Hopefully he will loosen up. Play see ball hit ball for a while.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Sano looks HUGE at first base......
Musk21 Community Moderator Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Twins bats appear to be in post-season form....
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 18, 2020 Author Posted March 18, 2020 Oh well. I started unsatisfactory game threads before... I'll take the blame for jinxing spring training.
