I remember somebody yesterday saying that it looks like the Yankees build their roster for a World Series title and the Twins build their roster for a central division title. I think that they hit the nail on the head with that.

This is a team that won a 101 games this year.

Yeah, the Yankees have been the Twins kryptonite, but, this team won the division when it wasn't expected to.

Rocco could get 2nd guessed bigtime if this series goes just 3 games and it turns out that several of the players on the roster were too hurt to contribute.

Remove injured players, and the remainder of the choices on our 40-man aren't guys likely to strike fear in an opponent's heart either. Wade can partially take Kepler's place. Astudillo would be overmatched. After that we're down to LaMarre, Miller, Torreyes for position players.

Until the Twins beat the Yankees in a playoff series?, the Twins will always be scared of them. The only way to get confidence is to beat them.

Everybody can talk every year about this years team being different and not impressed with the Yankees but until the Twins start beating them...

Tanaka only threw 4 of 18 pitches in the strike zone that inning. It's going to be hard to win if the batters don't find some plate discipline.

It’s also true that this Yankees team won more games than we did. In fact, that has been true historically when we meet in the playoffs.

 

People seem to forget that underdogs don’t usually win. So we think there’s something supernatural about how we lose to the Yankees, rather than admit that they field more talented teams than we do.

 

I still prefer being the underdog. We can still overcome the odds and win.
