The Twins do have one thing to play for... World Series home field advantage over the Braves. We are 1.5 games ahead of them at the moment... which means only the Dodgers will have home field advantage over us.

Smeltz isn't helping his chances. With the Astros and #$@*anks lineups it's going to be tough for a lefty to get a playoff spot. Perez nah. It's been rush hour on the basepaths with either Smeltz or Thopedo. Of the three I would pick Thopedo.

I'm late to the thread, but I can't help but notice that today's line-up has scored more runs in 4 innings than the A lteam line-up did in the first 6 innings of the first two games of the series.

Twins have 27 steals on the year with one today, the next fewest amount by a Twins team was 32 in 1963 (same team that had the home run record previously).  Can they steal six more in three plus games with a piranhas lineup?  Three Senator teams did steal less, so it's not a franchise low.

Sure would like to see Arreaz get that ball at second. Smeltzer pitching batting practice against the worst offensive team in MLB. Not a good sign for the post season roster.
