I really do appreciate Gibson making himself available. But the fact is the results are terrible when he comes in as a reliever.

 

I get that the confidence level on Hildenberger, Harper, Kohl and Alcala is pretty low, but IMO that is not a good reason to have Gibson do something he isn’t good at and something that seemingly negatively impacted him for a handful of starts the last time he did it.

maybe they'll win it in the ninth. and maybe there's a logical explanation. but if you get a two-run lead on the one team chasing you -- and there are only 12 outs to go -- you move in for the kill. you don't put out the call to aaa followed by a guy with inflammatory bowel condition.
