wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 It's not unravelling, better to let him know early. Have to do something. I guess that I'd call slamming the bat and helmet to the ground and chirping enough that the ump follows you to the dugout to be unraveling a bit. That's how it was described on the radio. YMMV though.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 I'm pretty sure Perez does not survive this inning. Il stint coming or just a demotion to the Bullpen? What does putting him in the pen accomplish? He’s been terrible from pitch 1.

The Atlanta broadcast seemed to think it was the ump engaging, not Marwin, and noted that the home plate ump has a reputation for a quick temper and irascibility.

wavedog Verified Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Is this guy behind home plate as bad as it sounds? And unlike some umps, the benefit going to the Atlanta pitcher?I have not been watching the whole game but there was a call low and outside pitch to Gonzalez that should have been a ball. Perez 3-0 pitch to Donaldson was center of the plate and on the edge or slightly below (higher than Gonzalez strike was called) and that was called a ball. Usually if the 3-0 pitch is that close it is called a strike.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 holy moly it keeps getting worse
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 So does Rocco make the same mistake as he did in the last Yankees game? Leaves Perez in to take one for the team only to see them storming back?

Still a bit early to have the ump in your head though, which is my point. That's why I'm saying that it's not a good sign.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 By the way, anybody warming up in the Bullpen?didn't we just call someone up
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 twins have not won a series against a winning team since the first series out of the all star break. about a month ago. not a complaint, just a tidbit! They took 2/3 from Cleveland, split 2/2 with Oakland and 1/3 with the Yankees. Those are the only teams they have played with a winning record. A loss today puts their 4 series at 1-2-1 since the break. Not good, but that series comment since the break is kinda misleading

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 So does Rocco make the same mistake as he did in the last Yankees game? Leaves Perez in to take one for the team only to see them storming back? Seeing as how he made the same mistake just last night in a game that was closer than this one, I'm guessing yes, he will.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 I guess Rocco’s going to see if Perez can give up 9 too. I’ll bet starting pitchers giving up 9 runs in consecutive games hasn’t happened in 100 years or more.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 The air raid sirens are going! Does that mean Perez will give up a grand slam?
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Hope springs eternal I suppose.
ruralTWINS rube Verified Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 With the additions that we made to our bullpen we can afford to have a SP only go 3 innings. In fact I think we should do this the rest of the way. Our defence has been picking all of our pitchers up when they are struggling... Serenity now.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Emergency sirens because Perez is pitching?
