Nick Gordon says “Hi, remember me?”

Sure I remember him. He'll most likely get a 20-30 PA look in September to see if he can take Schoop's spot on the playoff roster.

Doesn't mean I would get rid of Schoop today, which is what jaimedude posted.

I'd DFA Perez and send Stewart down for good. I also don't understand letting Schoop hit with to outs and men in second and third, not with two good hitters on the bench.

I think I'd try Perez in the pen once more prior to a DFA, and I'd have him drop his changeup and maybe see if he can break out the curveball a bit more. His cutter was his newly found magic pitch early in the year, but it looks like he's only throwing it 88MPH, which is only 3 MPH faster than the changeup, and unlike the first March-May it looks like both pitches have near identical vertical movement now.

The thing that shocked me the most about those Royals' clubs is how fast they disappeared. It has to be a very hard pill to swallow for Royals fans when their club's players all left so fast.

But at the same time, the 91 Twins were so great and only two years later, we were one of the worst teams in baseball in 93. So time goes really fast for any team not named the Yankees or Red Sox.

In low leverage situations, maybe. I'd rather they just start calling up the late 2020 starters and make them RPs. Gaterol, Jax, whomever has stuff. But this isn't happening, so in the meantime, please bullpen him.

The thing that made pitchers like Brad Radke and Johan Santana ace material is that you absolutely could predict a good game each and every game they pitched. When I see Berrios pitching, I don't get the same feeling that I got with Radke and Santana.

That's nostalgia talking, they had their fair share of clunkers.

Just got back from Target Field, felt like a funeral. No energy, nothing.

Really, really disappointing last two games from the Twins. Hard to believe this team is in the middle of a pennant race with back-to-back performances like this.

You gotta take Perez out of the rotation. Just have to.

Maybe he needs to go on the IL

3 things that are guaranteed in life... Death, taxes, and Brad Radke giving up a 1st inning HR.

Are the Twins a better team than the Braves? Absolutely, 100 per cent yes. The Twins are better than Atlanta. Maybe we just caught the Braves at a bad time.

Clearly Braves are better. Braves' only weakness is the bullpen. It's still better than Twins' bullpen though.

They were good in 92 also. Had they not Pohladed their way out from under Jack Morris, they'd have been back in the playoffs again. But alas, they were CHEAP as has been the case for years and years here and Morris went on to win another WS in Toronto.

Yes, and their rotation looks to be as good as anybody's. They don't have Berrios and pray. Nevermind the fact our cheap ass FO could have had their #2 guys with ease. Without even giving anybody up. But, of course, they need the money to gold plate their toiletseats.

I personally don't see Berrios as an ace. Aces are not unpredictable in big games.

Berrios has ace stuff, he just does not have mind of an ace.

John Smiley was better than Jack Morris in 1992 by just about any statistical measurement other than wins.

Radke was not an ace. He wasn't even really a good number two most years.

Well I’m not the fan of Jax that some are, but I’d be more than happy to see Graterol, Duran and other high energy arms.

The Twins made Morris the 2nd highest paid pitcher at the time and had to lure him back home with an opt out clause, which by the way was extremely forward thinking, it had never been done before.

We’re they cheap in not outbidding the Blue Jays for him the following year? I suppose if you don’t consider that they re-signed Kirby Puckett to the largest free agent deal in league history.

He was just an example name. Call up the guys with stuff. That's all I want.

I'm sure Johan Santana had bad games with us, but one thing is sure: I don't remember even a single game that he pitched where he was shelled. Not one. 5 IP, 4 ER? Sure. But I can't remember a really bad game. As for Radke, sure there were times he would give up 2 or 3 runs in the first inning, I remember that too, but again, I felt really good with Radke on the mound. There's no question I looked forward to Radke and Santana pitching, I don't particularly count down the days that Berrios will pitch. Maybe one day, but certainly not yet in his career.

According to BR Morris was the highest paid pitcher in 1991 and behind only Daryl Strawberry, Will Clark, Kevin Mitchell andJoe Carter overall. After his bonuses (all star, IP, World Series MVP, top 5 Cy Young) he was actually THE highest paid player in 1991.

Smeltzer, Dobnak and Jax are the same kind. None of them are power pitchers. They just know how to pitch.

Brewers found out quickly last year that the guy wasn't good. They traded for him [schoop] and then benched him after his first few weeks with the team. Like Perez, he is who we thought he was.

Dennis? Dennis!?! Is that you??? Oh, you sound so much like him. :)

Maybe we just need to get back to some cooler weather for some of these guys.

Johan didn't even get out of the 4th inning in a postseason game with the Yankees.  Like someone else said, it's nostalgia talking.  Even Santana got shelled from time to time.
