We're going to be thrilled or heartbroken at the end the night, boys and girls. That's baseball.

 

Sure is nice to be playing meaningful games. There have been too many years that, by this point, there are only a handful of people watching. We're on the edge of our seats and it's an August 5th Interleague game.

He passed the eye and stat test last year in 309 PAs compared to this year's 105 PAs. He does have a tendency to make some bone-headed plays in the outfield, I'll give you that.

In all reality the bullpen gave up 2 singles and the Braves get 2 runs across.  Should have been 2 errors and a passed ball.  That cannot happen.  It doesn't excuse Duffey for hanging the first pitch he threw to Donaldson, but damn help your pitchers out guys.

Funny how that gets lost in the diatribes against the pen. That inning was more about poor defense than poor pitching, Duffy's hanger not withstanding.

IMO, we're not fielding our best defensive team (1st base & right field) and that passed ball was just flat sloppy ... play solid defense & we're out of that inning with the lead.

 

But, of course, that's not where we're at.

30 year-old Trevor May and his career 5.00 ERA looks exactly like who he is. Not sure why this guy keeps getting chances - guess when you're branded a 'high potential" guy you can make a nice living off that.
