This is tough to watch.  We are watching an 11.5 game lead dwindle to nothing.  Granted, we are playing tough teams while Cleveland is playing the equivalent of a bunch of minor league squads, but if we want to show we are ready for the big time, we gotta put on our big boy pants and play ball for 9 innings.

Sure Rocco might have brought this team some good sabermetrics knowledge, but for a team in a slump I would want Gardy to manage these guys. Gardy showed heart for the game and probably wasn't afraid to dig into his players for something they did wrong. Rocco won't do that.

Yeah, but Gardy usually only dug into one or two guys at a time, and it was generally the youngest guy on the team - they were his whipping boy of the month.

So I had to find out, and went up and introduced myself as a fellow Twins fan, and sure enough...... it was his dad, with his brother and sister!

 

It must have been a special order.

Kohl Stewart's not a guy I'd love investing trust into either, but even untrustworthy pitchers will put up a scoreless inning around half the time.

 

Just so bizarre that May was left in for sooooo long. Almost the kind of thing before you DFA a guy, which I don't see happening. Very strange.

The stretch includes a 3-4 record against the White Sox and KC. So not all that tough.

It seems to me that the twins have progressed from total system failure to a winning season that has turned mediocre. What we have seen lately is sickening, but I have hope that the pieces are in place to possibly turn things around this year.

 

I also think that the Indians and the A's have very solid teams, but the losses to the Mets were fairly inexcusable.
