Edgar Meyer is god. (Apologies to Eric Clapton. Actually no apologies because he is to the double bass what EC is to the electric guitar.) Really, I saw him perform about 10 years ago. He played a Bach suite of some kind, and I was thinking, well, he's not bad, then suddenly he was doing things with his left hand that were jaw-dropping. I wasn't really too stoked about his own compositions but he's a technical genius.
