Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 So this Trout guy who hit that home run. Is he any good?
bighat Verified Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Oakland beat Cleveland again tonight - 2nd in a row the A's go on the road and win against the Indians. Gracias, Oakland! Time to return the favor and beat one of their division rivals on the road again. I think Astudillo will kind of hover around .270 or so eventually, maybe hit 6 HR or so. Nice for a backup catcher...but the Twins already have a backup catcher. I do think he's a nice utility guy who will probably be in Rochester at some point this year but he'll be back on the expanded playoff roster for sure. Looks like Trout finally got a hold of one. He can hit as many solo shots as he wants! Time for a comeback!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Pineda apparently only gives up runs on solo HRs now.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 So this Trout guy who hit that home run. Is he any good? He's no Tommy LaStella.
twins_89 Verified Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Pineda now tied for the league lead in HRs given up. He also leads qualified starters in HR/9 by a significant margin. Pineda's lucky there are no starters in the high minors who are pushing for a promotion to the majors.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 DicknLaTroy talking about Hrbek, wondering if he's in a boat somewhere. Even Hrbek is smart enough to know you don't go out on a boat during a strong wind advisory.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 pfft. Is that the sound of a strong wind advisory being broken?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Is that the sound of a strong wind advisory being broken?Yes, it's the sound of me breaking wind.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Yes, it's the sound of me breaking wind.Better fix it...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 More Like This I wonder where the fish did go...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 I had a little time this afternoon, so I thought I'd take a walk. I walked along a nearby golf course, picking up golf balls as I went. In no time at all, I had both front pockets stuffed with Titleists and Nikes and Taylor Mades and Slazengers. Well, I got quite a ways from home, and wouldn't you know it, Mrs Chief calls me and she needs me at home, RIGHT NOW! for some domestic emergency or another. Except...I'm miles from home. So I hopped on a bus, and sat down next to a lovely young blond lass. She kept stealing glances at my pockets, stuffed with golf balls, with this quizzical look on her face. Finally, I looked at her and said "Golf balls." She looked away, sort of embarrassed I thought. After a couple minutes she looked at me and asked, quietly, "Is that sort of like tennis elbow?"

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Pineda is not good...we have to upgrade his spot in the rotation sooner rather than later"Hittable" is the term that comes to my mind.

bighat Verified Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Pineda...not sharp. We get spoiled watching Berrios, Perez, and Odorizzi most of the time. Watching Pineda (and Gibson, to an extent) has been difficult.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 "Hittable" is the term that comes to my mind. Ah, we're just bein' fashionably late to the scorin'...

ScooterDance Provisional Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 I’m pretty sure La Stella’s fly out to right had a 114.3mph exit velocity on ESPNs gamecast app.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Reminds me of my young days when I'd walk in a bar and all the girls would start hitting on me...I think the term is "slapping".
Darius Verified Member Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 The Pineda signing looked wonderful for a few days.
