Game Thread: Twins @ Mariners, 5/17/19, 9:10 CT

Nice strikeout!!!

[operation mindcrime]

Way to hunker down Perez!!! Thank goodness for that ground rule double!!!!!!

[Mill1634]

That cutter is deadly.

[nicksaviking]

Man, his pitches are really moving.

[bighat]

LaTroy has a pretty good idea of what's coming from these pitchers!

[MNT1996]

Great comeback from Perez. Should've only been a double that inning because Martin definitely didn't deserve that walk

[bighat]

Not sure if this has been mentioned on the broadcast or elsewhere - MLB caps today are in honor of Armed Forces Weekend.

BTW, weren't the Twins wearing camo last year in Seattle also? We must have played the M's at the same time a year ago.

[stringer bell]

Nice recovery Pérez!

[sampleSizeOfOne]

I predict at least 3 times.

Thanks to everyone for putting up with me.

Unless it rains?

Did the roof on Safeco Field fall off?

[Mill1634]

Very good bounceback inning from Perez

[MNT1996]

Absolutely bamboozled the batters that inning

[operation mindcrime]

Two looking strikeouts!!!! Just beautiful Perez!!!!

[Mill1634]

EXIT VELO EHIRE!!!!!!!!!!!

[MNT1996]

Of course its Adrianza!

[Aggies7]

Haha ehire always senses when the rest of the lineup needs him

[Nine of twelve]

Glad I'm not listening to the radio to hear Gladden say Ay-drianza.

[operation mindcrime]

That was awesome Ehire!!!!!

[bighat]

Ah! I believe I picked adrianza to click!

[howeda7]

Who needs Cruz and Garver when you have Ehire?

[ScrapTheNickname]

Definitely the most "B" lineup the Twins can possibly cobble together. Already without Cruz, the Twins voluntarily bench Rosario as well. Me no like.

All that said....Adrianza's batting .333 in his last 20 plate appearances with a HR, 5 walks and just 2 strikeouts. He's not a sure out and never really has been. Definitely a downgrade but not bloody awful. Give the guy a chance, he might just be the pick to click tonight.

Yup.

Dunno...at my house, the 90 proof is in the pudding.

[Brock Beauchamp]

So when do we start to believe Perez is the real deal?

And that 2020 option, huzzah.

[Brock Beauchamp]

Dunno...at my house, the 90 proof is in the pudding.

Pudding won’t even set at that alcohol content, rookie.

[operation mindcrime]

That was Adrianza's longest career home run at 414 feet!

[USAFChief]

Ah! I believe I picked adrianza to click!

eh...you hedged. Can't give it to ya.

[ScrapTheNickname]

Harold Reynolds just pointed out that in 1995 the Mariners came back to win the division from 13 games back.

How far back were the 2006 Twins before they went on that 28-2 run??

In other words, words of caution.

and...?

[MNT1996]

Perez needs to work on the curve. Didn't fool the Detroit batters or Gordon there.
