Wow, Lester is not a good career hitter... I think we're back to bad Lynn.    :banghead:   Where's the puking smiley?

Also, that's another reason not to bunt and give the Twins a free out. I mean, there's really no way to anticipate Lester hitting a HR there but still, when you swing away, good things happen.

He started his career off 0 for 66 or something like that which is a MLB record but honestly he's pretty good with bat in recent years and has become an accomplished bunter as well.

I would normally agree, but the last 6 games should make us believe that nothing is impossible when it comes to losing for these guys. This could get ugly real quick. We have 35 wins? All it would take is to win 25 from here on and boom. If it weren’t for that little hot streak, 25 wins would be realistic. I’m not counting them out of 100 losses. This is just a new level of ineptitude.

I think they could get to 100 losses; but, there is a but, they have been running a JV team out there for a lot of the season. No Buxton

No Polanco

No Sano for a sizable chunk

No Castro

No Mauer for a sizable chunk

No Santana

So it's been a bad year, however not everything has gone very well this year either.

Take Boston and remove

Bogart's

Betts

Devers

Moreland

Vasquez

And Sale and how would they be doing? I know that's a little dramatic, but realistically the Twins have been without the guys that they projected to be their best players this year. Instead the Twins have run out Lamarre, Cave, Astrudillo, Petite, etc.....

Take Astudillo and Cave out. They are just rookies. Insert Morrison, Motter and Wilson.

I don't think Castro, Polanco and Mauer were projected to be some of our best players this year. And if they were, then thats a big problem too.

I do think these higher temperatures have increased the hitting a little bit more than normal, but that's not an excuse for our pitchers. I think both teams would give up a couple less runs with cooler conditions, so we'd still be getting swept.

Twins pitching got eaten alive by the Cubs in this series. The Twins gave up double digit runs in all three games.

If the Cubs win, they'll have given up 20 runs in the past 3 games and won all 3 for the first time since July of 2000

Astudillo is what a Twins player should be. I don't think he's going back to AAA anymore. Wilson or Motter are going to be let go.

Wow, I never saw this becoming a one run game. So much bad pitching... Good to finally see Garver’s bat come to life. Of course, they'll probably still lose it because it is a one run game.

if Astudillo was a better catcher, I’d think Wilson would be. Can Motter be DFA’d while on the DL?

Is Molitor's plan to overwork Pressly to death to insure no other team can ever use him again after this season? Seeing as he is awful, wouldn't we want other teams to be able to use him after this season?

Astudillo is at least average defensively as well. Way better than Garver defensively.

I think Wilson would be let go as soon as Polanco comes back.

When Motter comes back from DL, he will be released.

Astudillo is considered a slightly above average defensive catcher so...
