operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Yeah! Nice to see Dozier increase his trade value!
Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Guys going shirtless in the stands...where are all the girls in bikini's?They are there don't worry!
Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Wow, Lester is not a good career hitter... I think we're back to bad Lynn. Where's the puking smiley? Also, that's another reason not to bunt and give the Twins a free out. I mean, there's really no way to anticipate Lester hitting a HR there but still, when you swing away, good things happen. He started his career off 0 for 66 or something like that which is a MLB record but honestly he's pretty good with bat in recent years and has become an accomplished bunter as well.
Twodogs Verified Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 I would normally agree, but the last 6 games should make us believe that nothing is impossible when it comes to losing for these guys. This could get ugly real quick. We have 35 wins? All it would take is to win 25 from here on and boom. If it weren’t for that little hot streak, 25 wins would be realistic. I’m not counting them out of 100 losses. This is just a new level of ineptitude.I think they could get to 100 losses; but, there is a but, they have been running a JV team out there for a lot of the season. No BuxtonNo PolancoNo Sano for a sizable chunkNo CastroNo Mauer for a sizable chunkNo SantanaSo it's been a bad year, however not everything has gone very well this year either. Take Boston and remove Bogart'sBettsDeversMorelandVasquezAnd Sale and how would they be doing? I know that's a little dramatic, but realistically the Twins have been without the guys that they projected to be their best players this year. Instead the Twins have run out Lamarre, Cave, Astrudillo, Petite, etc.....

S. Verified Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 I don't think Castro, Polanco and Mauer were projected to be some of our best players this year. And if they were, then thats a big problem too.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 I do think these higher temperatures have increased the hitting a little bit more than normal, but that's not an excuse for our pitchers. I think both teams would give up a couple less runs with cooler conditions, so we'd still be getting swept.
ChrisKnutson Verified Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Once we trash Morrison, I wouldn’t mind seeing Kennys Vargas get the audition he should’ve gotten years ago.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 I thought Dozier was a great leader.... This is why, imo, most leadership talk is post hoc BS. There do not appear to be any leaders out there
jun Verified Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Twins pitching got eaten alive by the Cubs in this series. The Twins gave up double digit runs in all three games.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 At least today they didn't give up 3-run leads two times like they did on Friday and yesterday.

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 I have just become a fan of Willans Astudillo. The guy just plays baseball, thassall!
jun Verified Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Astudillo is what a Twins player should be. I don't think he's going back to AAA anymore. Wilson or Motter are going to be let go.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Willians “Swing at everything and bring 5 gloves” Astudillo; scoring catalyst.... who’d have thunk?

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Wow, I never saw this becoming a one run game. So much bad pitching... Good to finally see Garver’s bat come to life. Of course, they'll probably still lose it because it is a one run game.

S. Verified Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Is Molitor's plan to overwork Pressly to death to insure no other team can ever use him again after this season? Seeing as he is awful, wouldn't we want other teams to be able to use him after this season?
jun Verified Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 if Astudillo was a better catcher, I’d think Wilson would be. Can Motter be DFA’d while on the DL?Astudillo is at least average defensively as well. Way better than Garver defensively.I think Wilson would be let go as soon as Polanco comes back. When Motter comes back from DL, he will be released.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Might as well give a run or two right back so we don’t lose another 1 run game
