Jerr Verified Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Twins are tending to be the lead story on MLB, lately
bighat Verified Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Brutal - Adrianza out at home, ouch. What are the Twins challenging here?
sftwinsfan Verified Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 That is some of the worst baserunning ever, to be going on the pitch to a double to the gap and still get easily throw out. Just pathetic.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Adrianza didn't have much of a jump there, bad read on Grossman's double. Out by a decent amount too. Dang.

drock2190 Verified Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 That baserunning would have made Ruben Riveria proud!!!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Well that was a thoroughly bungled inning.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 If you’re going to swing at th first pitch with the bases loaded, you probably need to hit it further than 84 feet.
dgwills Provisional Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 That was Dozier pitch too. Just missed it.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Twins have won two games this series they should have lost. This might be a loss they should have won.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 I think my mother could gave scored on that double. And she passed away several years ago.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Hitting the guy hitting .146....so deserving of a loss
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Bad loss. Very bad loss.Yeah, but the last two games were ones the Angels should have won, but we stole it from them. So overall I'm happy with a 2-2 split with this team. I'm not even mad at Duke. You're not going to win games when you score a single run.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 So to recap the 9th: Thrown out at home on an easily scoreable playPopped out on the first pitch with bases loadedHBP on a guy hitting .146 to leadoff an inning
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Bad loss. Very bad loss. I actually disagree. Angels blew more chances than the Twins did in this game. I don't know how you can call something a bad loss when you never had the lead.

And then duke hit the worst batter on the field, on an 0-2 pitch none the less.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Angels pitcher walked a .083 hitter on 5 pitches. And what did we do with that? Our veteran Dozier hacks at the first pitch and pops out 80 feet from home.
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 As has been said, we should have had the lead. And then hit the worst batter on the field, on an 0-2 pitch none the less. Shoulda, woulda, coulda. Angels had runners on 1st and 3rd with 0 outs twice and came away with 1 run. I would say the Angels losses in the last two games were far worse than the Twins loss today, but just personal opinion.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 As others have said, the Twins have won some games they shouldn't have recently, so this loss is about as easy to stomach as they come. That said, with the exception of Lance Lynn, it seems that the Twins' bats are the major offenders in Twins losses recently. It's about time Morrison starts hitting home runs. And we need to start seeing some 2-3 hit games from Kepler and Buxton pretty darn soon, if the Twins want to stay competitive.

This could have been a sweep as easily as we could have won 3/4
