Even the best teams are going to lose a lot of games this year.

I come away from this one encouraged.

Romero just went toe to toe with Ohtani.

It was an old school game. 2-1 loss and two pretty evenly matched teams that should contend this year.

I’m worried about the bullpen because Molitor wont use one or two pitchers in the bullpen. It sure would be nice to have another position player if Molitor won’t pitch Hughes at all

Yes, yes he did. He looks promising

A disappointing loss but given that less than two weeks ago half the people here were ready to commit Hari-Kari, I can't get too upset about a 7-3 road trip.

As has been said, we should have had the lead if he didn’t run the bases like Lonnie Smith. And then duke hit the worst batter on the field, on an 0-2 pitch none the less.

Adrianaza was off with the pitch. He wouldn't have seen the ball leave the bat. He would have heard it.

At that point he has to find the ball because if it is caught he could get doubled off. Until he locates the ball which could be anywhere... the only clue he has is the direction the fielders are running. To make matters worse... the ball was hit behind him. If it was in front of him to left field he could have kept running and made it with ease. This is what caused the pause and once paused it takes a bit of time to regain momentum. It wasn't a clear case of get the noose out.

The question I have is... did the 3B Coach give him a green light or red light? A green light would be a bit optimistic in my opinion.

And BTW... Credit to the Angels for executing perfectly.

Doesn’t he pick up the 3B coach if he can’t locate the ball?

Yes... you try to pick up whatever/whoever you can but you probably can't hear him with a loud crowd and it probably won't prevent the pause because you are looking for movement and he had to look behind him because the movement was behind him.

Looking at the replay... it looked like he found the ball himself but momentum was gone by that time. I'd like to see the replay again to be sure.

Then a series of things happened. The ball bounced cleanly off the wall to (Trout I believe). Trout then hit the cut clean so Kinsler could catch turn and throw efficiently and then Kinsler fired a strike. Just like it is supposed to happen.

That's why my curiosity is going hang around the 3rd base coach and if a stop or go sign was put up.

Adrianza is slow for a shortstop, despite what Dick says. I'd have held him there, with 1 out and Mauer (I think) coming up. if they walk him, either let wilson or Petit hit for a potential sac fly. Oh well. Twins need to bite the bullet on Hughes. If you're going to have an 8 man bullpen, you gotta be willing to use all 8. Call up Moya/Curtiss and let them pitch on days like today. Reed/Duke/Pressly are going to been burnt out. Let's win tomorrow. Go Twins!

Saw none of the game but from what little I looked into this was my impression. I bet it was a really good baseball game.

Welp,

This one came on at 4AM for me over here, so caught the last couple innings before going to work--

Yeh, was almost out the door, (and thinking, maybe even out loud to myself- pleeeeease, don't try to hit a dinger, here...), when BD made that Home Run Baker swing on the first pitch, and heroically pooped (I mean, popped) one up in oh-so-foul ground.  I mean, the cat had just walked Brian, oops, BOBBY WILSON, fer cryin out loud...  Ya can't maybe take one pitch...?

Ah, well.

Yeh, this too.  I watched him stagger around the bases like a sailor on shore leave, and thought omg, hold him up!  Hold him up, Gene!!

I too was under the impression that Adrianza had wheels-- don't know where I got that from.  Cripes, he looked slow!  He was out by 3-4 axe handles...
