  1. Wow, the knives are out. I know it’s frustrating that the lineup is underperforming, but having Rosario, Gonzalez and Adrianza here wasn’t going to solve this problem. You going to sit Polanco and Arraez for Gonzo and Adrianza? That wasn’t happening. I do believe that it’s time to ride Kiriloff in LF and see what he can do. The biggest player I think we are missing is Trevor May. He was a big cog in that bullpen who was not replaced. I didn’t like the Colome signing and so far he has done nothing for me to allay my fears about that. I have to believe that the lineup will turn around, however, the bullpen seems worrying to me. We finally are getting glimpses of the stars that Berrios and Buxton can become, hopefully we can get this back on track
  2. Bloom has no credibility left after this, tough spot for a GM. Plus he was dealing with former colleague in Friedman, just looks bad
  3. Good first move. I’d like to see another starter and two more relievers. I’d guess Perez could be a lefty in the pen the . Pretty interesting trade, I’m guessing that Balazovic may need to be moved, so this gets another high end arm to replace him at that level.
  4. Not terribly surprised. Twins reliever trade updates: Givens has a 2 inning save against TB, throwing 96-97, but little wild.
  5. What a late surge by the Kernels to make the playoffs!
  6. Just like Kirby, his class and likability will help with HOF voters in my opinion
  7. Seems like Rice was careful with his outings based on the stats above
  8. Hoping Rutledge gets to them, but I doubt it. I’m guessing Langeliers. As Tom opined, I’m guessing Rortvedt May be dealt
  9. Stroman and Smith would be my favorites to target. It’s always difficult the 1st year back from TJ as you can see with Pineda. Smith slots in nicely for Mejia
  10. I’d like Stroman or MadBum for starters and Will Smith out of the pen. MadBum and Smith will be FA after the season.
  11. Well the FO look like geniuses now and I was completely wrong. With Kluber’s unfortunate injury, we now have to be the favorites to win the division. I know I’m looking ahead, but if we can get ahead in the standings by some distance, Cleveland may throw up the white flag and continue to trade people. Now that we’ve finished with the Astros, our next kryptonite, the somewhat depleted Bronx Bombers
  12. I’m not really worried about Lewis. Smeltzer and Graterol dealing for the Blue Wahoos
  13. After a couple of horrible years, the Twins now have an opening to become a force in the Twin Cities sports market. While we all know this will always be a Vikings town, it has been an abysmal year for Minnesota pro sports, with the Vikings, Wild and Wolves failing to even make the playoffs, the Twins have the opportunity to become a force in the market. The Twins have gotten off to a good start, with young guys, Polanco, Berios, Kepler and Buxton leading the way. While we Twins fans joke, Astudillo could really be the type of player that captures the fascination of the fans. Once the draft is completed, the Twins will have the file to themselves, so a successful season could bring this club back to relevance in this market
  14. For a franchise who are notorious slow starters, hope reigns eternal. Really really like Cruz in this lineup
  15. My in person observations: 1. That was the most dominant performance I can remember since Ervin toying with the White Sox on a 1 hitter a couple of years ago. 2. Schoop is a monster of a man for a 2B. His fly to the wall may have been a homer in warmer weather 3. Buxton seems different, like he’s got a chip on his shoulder. The fans are really pulling for him to be our next superstar. It was electric in the stadium when he crushed that double. 4. LOved Rocco leaving Rogers in with all the lefties lined up by the Indians 5. After seeing Cleveland’s lineup, even with Lindor and Kipnis, is not that impressive. That OF is putrid
  16. It’s a on nice to actually have bench options instead of 13 pitchers
  17. These deal very Clevelandesque. I like these deals and hope to do same with Rosario and Berrios. I doubt Berrios will partake though
  18. These deal very Clevelandesque. I like these deals and hope to do same with Rosario and Berrios. I doubt Berrios will partake though
  19. Spending is changing. The middle relievers are getting rich and the middle tier starters have no market, especially if the pitchers are getting close to 30
  20. If MLB were to buy the Fox Sports Regionals, maybe they could get rid of those asinine blackout regulations and I could pay directly for streaming here in Iowa. Instead there are 6 home teams in Iowa where streaming is blacked out, MN, MIL, CHC, CHW, KC and STL
  21. There has been an outcry about the Twins spending this offseason. According to Forbes, the Twins had operating income profit of $23 million last year. My question is really about that number. Is that $23 million account for the ML franchise only? What role does the ML franchise have in operating and/or funding the minor league affiliates, baseball academies, etc? Does the $23 million includes any of those costs? I also read something yesterday that MLB was considering a bid for the regional fox sports channels which have to be sold before the fox merger will be approved by the federal government. That seems like that could be another huge source of revenue by the owners if MLB can pull that off
  22. Oh good. I hadn’t read a “Pohlads are cheap thread” in a while. Let’s go sign someone for let’s say $23 million a season and then listen to fans bitch that he takes too much payroll and doesn’t hit 35 HRs.
  23. You cannot give up a ton without an extension. I’m guessing the Cardinals end up with him
  24. IM withholding judgment. We still have 66 games against the AL Central and cleveland has its own worts
