Apparently the answer between Lynn, Cobb, and Darvish was none of the above... at least for April.

 

Let's take this time to remember that Lynn asked for $20M a year on a multi-year contract. Not that he's a total bust... but we can see why teams were hesitant to pay these starting pitchers gobs of money.

My thoughts on hating the Yankees;

 

I used to hate the Yankees, when they simply bought every player.  There was no way the Twins could ever hope to compete against a team that shrugged their shoulders at nine-figure contracts, and laughed and spit on the luxury tax.

 

I no longer hate the Yankees--a team that develops a lot of talent, and makes incredibly shrewd trades, as that's exactly what I would hope the Twins would become.

 

So no, I don't hate the Yankees, but I want to be them oh so bad.

Here's a thought--what if tonight we proposed just forfeiting tomorrow's game?  We get to rest our bullpen, and we can fly back to Minnesota tonight to prepare for Friday's game against a team we actually have a chance to beat.

Here's a question for the Twins Daily tech people; why do spaces not appear in between periods/question marks/exclamation points and the beginning of the next sentence in my post.  Example immediately to the left of the word example in this sentence.

Fun fact: Mauer, Dozier, and Escobar are all hitting .288 at the moment. And they're all going to be free agents once the season is over. Odd.

Just catching up.

 

Lynn was pretty unlucky in the first. Two ground balls get through, then one line drive.
