USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 You win by scoring runs. You score runs by knocking in runners. Those are called "RBI." Nobody will ever convince me RBI aren't the most important offensive stat. All the analytics folks saying they're "team dependent" this, and "situational" that, are simply wrong. At the end of the day, I don't care how many times you walked. I care how many times we crossed home plate.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Never lost more than 4 in a row last year. This is now 6. Do you have an answer, paul?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 So... We didn't win, did we?
snepp Verified Member Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 I care how many times we crossed home plate. So runs scored, and not RBI is the most important stat in baseball. *ducks*
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Somebody upthread used the h-word. Does this team have it?
Rosterman Verified Member Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Somehow I had high hopes that the Yankees, early in the season, would be more beatable. But after the Rays disaster, and now this...talk about a tailspin. With the Reds around the corner, can the Twins rebound...just get thru five innings with each rotation starter?

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 So runs scored, and not RBI is the most important stat in baseball. *ducks* I'm old fashioned. I think Wins are the most important stat.
Platoon Verified Member Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 So runs scored, and not RBI is the most important stat in baseball. *ducks* There is a correlation, . *double ducks*
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 In my experience, some of the best BBQ I've had in Iowa are in smaller towns with family owned diners. One of the best meals I've had in Iowa was in the Amana colonies, but I don't remember which place it was. I love BBQ, but in Iowa the focus is this: http://www.iowapork.org/tenderloin-trail/ I'm working my way through it. Here's No. 3 on the list:
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 I'm old fashioned. I think Wins are the most important stat. Pfft. Tell that to the 2001 Seattle Mariners with their gaudy 116-46 record and all. Any serious sabrmetrician will gladly inform you that World Series rings are where it begins and ends.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Best steak house I've ever been too (and I've been to a lot) is the Northwestern Steak House in Mason City, Iowa. Seriously blows away any steak house in the country. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g38147-d508680-r564962639-Northwestern_Steakhouse-Mason_City_Iowa.html "A popular place for greasy food. The steaks taste boiled and cooked on a griddle NOT charbroiled. Didn’t enjoy it at all. Very dry salty. Time to do something new and change the menu." Yum!
