jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 I just noticed something. Starting pitcher is gone, and it's just the 6th inning. I remember last season, that was often good news for the Twins.
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 To be honest, Miguel Sano could be a very valuable weapon for the Twins this year: We trade him to the Yankees, he hits enough homeruns for them to put him in their postseason lineup, and we face them first round. We then proceed to strike him out 21 times in 5 games and win the series.I call it: The Reverse Implosion Dave The Dastardly 1

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 4. It's not a big deal in that there will be no retaliation, or anything like that. But these teams have to play 162 game schedules, they are incredibly competitive people, and people's careers are on the line. The idea that there aren't unwritten guidelines on how to conduct oneself over the course of 6 months of daily competition, so as to get everyone through the season as safely as possible, isn't realistic. You're right, the players are competitive, and do have careers on the line, which is probably why Sisco was attempting to get on base any way he could. Refusing to take a free base hit because the game is out of hand is more indicative of a lack of competitiveness. I don't disagree there are unwritten rules (like not taking too long to circle the bases on a homer, or not gesticulating wildly for 20 seconds after striking out a batter), and that they make sense. This is just an unwritten rule that is utterly laughable, with no reason to exist. Mike Sixel 1
Doubles Verified Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Mauer is far from speedy, but he is an excellent baserunner.
