As far as I know, there is nothing against the rules in sending Hildenberger out to throw "warm ups" between innings and then, after the first batter is announced, making a pitching change.

And struck out swinging three times. There were a couple seasons where his contact rate dipped pretty low, but I would still guess that is something he's done maybe 20 times in his career, and that seems high.
