Well, we haven't made the playoffs yet but I am certainly not basing my expectations in a playoff game on how Colon or Duffey did in this one.  Yankees are better and will have home field but we lost 2-1 and 5-2 in games not started by Bartolo.     Yankees favored but hardly a reason for throwing in the towel.    We just need to get there.

It's only the 5th inning and we are 8 down with bases loaded. Someone please throw me a positive.  Has anyone else noticed that the umps seem to have a pretty small plate in Yankee Stadium?  This would be the game to to get thrown out if I were catching.

What a disappointment.

Bartolo, Castro, Pickler, should have had a game plan.

what would that plan be? early dinner?

On the plus side, they hit the third best AL starter pretty well....

repeat from ln's game thread//

"backing in...is still in."

One of the most lasting legacies of the Gardenhire era, to me anyway, is the Twins' profound, collective inability to even resemble a professional baseball team when they play the Yankees.

It's as if a bus full of tourists debarked at Yankee Stadium expecting to get a tour of it on an off day, but instead were forced against their will to don uniforms and take the field for a major league baseball game against a Field of Dreams squad of both living and deceased Hall of Famers all replicating their best season in pinstripes.

Or maybe it's just me.

Yes...tourists.  We are the Minnesota Tourists.

The extraordinarily gorgeous weather will force me to abandon any interest in the game and head outside long before the Yankees finish dealing this final, soul-crushing blow of their series sweep?

That may not have been the kind of positive you were hoping for.  Sorry in advance.

I was going to say that they were ONLY down 8 runs with the bases loaded.  So you were kinder than I was going to be.

Base runners in every single inning of this series for the Yankees so far.

Yeah, no issues with pitching at all.

I think I did that in a video game once
