Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I really hope the twins tip their clubbies well. it's only right
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Also, Falvey autocorrects to "Flakey" on my phone
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 If someone asked me to bet Vargas would be the fastest Twin today, I would have taken it. I would have lost apparently.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 Dickbert agree that the Twins need better pitching, "principally from the starters."
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Dickbert agree that the Twins need better pitching, "principally from the starters."The hot takes never end with those guys.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 So, Gee pitches to 1-2 batters, Tonkin just keeps going out there? That's the master plan? edit: NM...MLB.com was just slow....
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Perkins in, 3 up, 3 down drought continues.
gocgo Verified Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Falvey and Levine have a long term plan to win the World Series year after year, for generations to come, and some day we'll all look back on this and laugh?I'm laughing now at that post, so that's a positive.
gocgo Verified Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Perkins in, 3 up, 3 down drought continues.Good call...saw that coming. This is the perfect game to prove he should call it a career.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Oh yeah. Glen Perkins is still on the roster.
NDagri Verified Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Nothing good about this series. Worst case scenario after today .5 game(s) ahead of LAA.Texas within 2.5 games. Oihers at best 3 games behind. Twins cannot win in NY, it is carved in stone somewhere.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Perkins in, 3 up, 3 down drought continues. that was close!
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 OMG. Perkins with a scoreless inning. Isn't that a sign of the apocalypse?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 that was close!Well, this isn't horseshoes and hand grenades......unfortunately for the Twins.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Well, this isn't horseshoes and hand grenades......unfortunately for the Twins.I'm not convinced that this bullpen would succeed even if it were.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 OMG. Perkins with a scoreless inning. Isn't that a sign of the apocalypse? No, sadly just a sign that might lead to them keeping him around.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Well, this isn't horseshoes and hand grenades......unfortunately for the Twins. one of my favorite green day songs, though nsfw....
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Fittingly, the Yankees have the most irritating sound effect in baseball. But the whistling goodbye suits us wel
gocgo Verified Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 And we finally get a 1-2-3 inning!
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 For the team or the fans?Post of the year!
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Today's positive No bunts!!!
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 When I saw "Tyler Wade" come up on MLB, com....and realize I"m actually paying attn at work now, as my boss is asking what we actually do.......I was wondering when the Twins called up Lamonte Wade.
gocgo Verified Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 We might as well just give the second wild card to the Angels. They seem to hand it right back to us though.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Today's positive No bunts!!!That's nearly as good as a win in my book.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I'll bet a baseball team has never been happier about going to Detroit.
bighat Verified Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 "The Twins are cursed!" "The Twins just can't beat the Yankees!" No. The Twins can't beat good teams and are a very average squad. It's not the Yankee curse, it's just that this team can't hit lefties and has trouble with good pitching in general. Red Sox, Astros, Dodgers, Yankees, Indians...you name it, they all pretty much routinely crush the Twins with ease. The Twins have kept in the hunt this year by beating up on bad teams, and catching good teams (ie: Milwaukee, KC) during bad stretches. They will need to continue that against Detroit immediately. Demoralizing sweep, demoralizing series, just a gut punch and a big middle finger to the fans given to everyone by the listless and drifting Twins. Had 2 of our best 3 pitchers going this series and got swept. Now what, we have to rely on Mejia and Gibson (who pitches best with 10 runs of support) to get us back on track? Yikes.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 Yeah, but it could be worse.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Man, that three-run lead was nice while it lasted. You know, for that one out....that it lasted.
