Assuming Gibson is done, compared with 2016, he has 2 more starts, exact same innings, 5 fewer hits, exactly same earned runs, 3 more walks, 5 more strikeouts, 1 more homerun.

 

I don't know if it's possible for a guy to have consecutive seasons any more identical.

 

Edit for one extra inning.

Except for about 15 minutes in the Twilight Zone when he couldn't throw a strike, Gibby has been decent.

I like this Gibson. He didn't go into complete meltdown mode after the 1st. 

 

I'd have bet money he wouldn't make it out of the second today.

 

Years past, I think that would have been a pretty safe bet.

Mauer hits a grand slam and I miss it? That's worse than missing the eclipse.

 

And not only that, it was to FRIKKEN RIGHT FIELD! He NEVER hits to right field, he's incapable of hitting to right field. The only thing that would make it better was if he did it on the first pitch, but that's never happening. But then, who knows ... he never hits to right field!
