PDX Twin Verified Member Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Wish I could watch tonight if only for an opportunity to see Colon "run" the bases if he puts the ball in play. Alas, off to marimba band rehearsal. I'll check in for the late innings. Squirrel and Riverbrian 2
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 I believe that Joe Morgan is showing up on Thursday. I hope everybody treats him ok. If you're going to do Joe Morgan you have to have him repeat himself at least six times in order to "make" his point. That's about how many times I wished I had a pistol at hand when he was announcing. Though I never figured out if I was going to shoot the TV or myself. Mute buttons have saved a lot of lives. ashbury Verified Member Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Chief and I will be there along with one of Chief's sons and both of Ash's sons. This is an awfully late game for us on the east coast, but I have to tune in at least a few innings on the off-chance of seeing some or all of you if the camera angles are kind. Also it would seem wrong to fail to witness the end of the Bartolo Colon Era for the Twins. How many innings before he is DFA? * * Shhhh!!! I'm attempting a reverse jinx on his behalf of course. Editor: Uh, Brian ... are you or your computer having difficulties today? I had to take out all these duplicate lines. And it still didn't make sense. Brian: No, I meant to do that. You need all those in there in order for it to make sense. Editor: Oh. Okay. I'll put it back the way it was. PDX Twin, Dave The Dastardly and Riverbrian 3
Guest Guests Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Now that the Twins are transaction central and have a new starter, Colon may be the odd man out of the rotation. If they next trade Kintzler's expiring contract, do you think Colon could be a back end reliever?

But tomorrow night, pay attention...look for blue "Twins daily.com" tee shirts when the view is of a LH hitter. glunn, Riverbrian, snepp and 1 other 4
jimmer Verified Member Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 (edited) So I was at Coors Field for the Pirates series this past weekend. On Friday night, at the end of the 6th inning, the Rockies gave one lucky fan a Rockies backpack full of gifts after randomly selecting the seat. Mine was chosen. It was awesome. DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Colon might have a chance to get past 4 innings tonight with a 1st like that.
snepp Verified Member Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Random googling on strikeouts, find this... A minor league team struck out 5 batters -- and gave up 4 runs -- in one inning ashbury, Oldgoat_MN, glunn and 1 other 4
snepp Verified Member Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Colon might have a chance to get past 4 innings tonight with a 1st like that. And in his last start I thought he might be able to make it though 6 given his start.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Ryu's initial combination to Grossman of a sharp breaking curve followed by a tantalizing changeup swung clean through looked tough to deal with..

I can't imagine being able to stand in there either.
