welp. Is this the begining of the end for Bart?

With any luck he left some graffiti in the Twins' clubhouse at Target Field to remind everyone in the future of those brief, glorious days when the Twins counted as one of their own the thief who stole the 2005 AL Cy Young award from Johan Santana.

Dodgers have won like 46 consecutive games when they've taken a lead at any point in the game. Putting two and two together, that means that's all she wrote for this one. Twins spiraling now to the point where the Jaime acquisition may not make much of a difference anyways.

Bart wants to be on a beach somewhere with a 16 oz'er

One out of two ain't bad.

Speaking for myself.

Yep, considering that they're 36 games over .500, I haven't been blown away by them. Although I'm basing this on the fact that the astros, a mere 32 games over, treat us like a rented mule.

Colon is getting fatigued? Who knew a morbidly obese middle aged man might begin to tire halfway through a professional athletic event?

In other Los Angeles news, Deputy Police Chief Dwayne T. Robinson is beginning to suspect that Sergeant Al Powell was right about the terrorists shooting at the lights...

What Colon is throwing is what I would call an excellent secondary pitch, a two-seamer between 83 to 87 mph, good action, well placed. Problem is, that's now his bread and butter pitch. As good as it is, hitters get used to it after no more than five innings. After that, they realize that they can smack the snot out of that pitch even if it's a few inches outside. At that point, Colon starts getting shelled.

Interestingly, this could mean that Colon could still make it as a middle reliever. If he doesn't have to pace himself, he might be able to bring a heater at 92, then use his versatile 2-seamer a little less often. Otherwise, I'd say he's finished as a starter. 4 or 5 innings tops isn't sufficient in a starter, nor is one pitch in the mid 80's, even if it's a crafty one.
