Gibson could get optioned back to AAA too, but I imagine Colon would be sent packing. They could cheat and use 6 starters for a few turns too, but it might be hard to justify, especially with 2 more off days this month.

Yes, almost impossible with the off days. Twins are more likely to skip someone than use 6.

He's been pretty meh overall the past few years. But "meh" is a big upgrade compared to our #4 and #5 starters.

Why not? I think largely what Haley needs is a chance to get consistent work. That's hard to do with a team on the edge of contending. He might blossom, he might blow up. Seems to me the perfect comp for a 2 month rental of a mediocre starter.

Motte is an expiring contract reliever, although he is on the DL but expected back soon.
