Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Why not? I think largely what Haley needs is a chance to get consistent work. That's hard to do with a team on the edge of contending. He might blossom, he might blow up. Seems to me the perfect comp for a 2 month rental of a mediocre starter.I don't know. They passed on him in Rule 5, and he doesn't seem to be of any particular value requiring a 40 man spot. Garcia is a healthy left handed league average starter. He's not a star, but I doubt they'd deal him today (10 days ahead of the deadline) for just Haley.
